Do you think that you are well-informed? For example do you know where Bulgaria is? I have allways been shocked that this is European country and popular because of some events, but many people when i ask them this question, reply: - Oh, Romania, yes, yes... No, it`s not Romania! How will you accept the ignorance and poor information about your country? I dont mean that all of you must know us very well, but for God`s sake, this is an elementary information. Do you think that the geographical education in your country is enough good your children and you to be well-informed?

My geography has been terrible ever since my parents threw away my old globe. I had always pictured countries in a different location to where they actually are. One of my good friends is Bulgarian - i still have no idea where exactly it is - i know it is in Europe somewhere - eastern Europe i would think. In fact, bulgaria would be very similar to russia - my friend's name is russian and his family looks russian.

I think that I have learned geography quite well. but typically, in the United State, geography and history are poorly taught lessons. I know the location of all countries on a globe, and I know about 75% of their capitals. but there are students that aren't learning these things in the US, and they learn a very US-centric history. It's very sad.
