Dreams Know No Rules...

'Get a pen and scribble down whatever you remember'-That is what I do while struggling to recall a dream but this one was different. Me and my brother were vacationing at a beach.We were swimming back towards the shore.Suddenly the shore started drifting away from us.The harder we swam the faster it drifted.In a few brief seconds we were million miles away from the shore somewhere in the sea,thirsty and fatigued. As both of us were drowning and contemplating the remote possibility of an air rescue,we found ourselves drowning in the pool of a vessel with a crowd screaming at us.I couldn't make out if they were scared or furious with us for spoiling their party.Before I could know what became of us the screaming alarm clock woke me up. How did we get into the swimming pool from the middle of the ocean ? Are your dreams as weird as mine ? Do they follow logic ? Do you struggle to recall them ?

Yeah,that's what people recommend.But by the time I wake up, a large chunk of my dream seems to have abandoned my memory.So,to tell you the truth,I haven't been able to pen it down ever. Well,bluewings,I don't want to alarm you in any manner.Nor do I think it has any symbolic connection to the dream I used to see frequently,a few years ago. I used to dream of me and my father in a very small boat in the midst of a vast ocean.The unending lagoon with no traces of any solid surface.I and my father always had water phobia and I used to be really scared of this dream. A few months later when I visited my parent's house,I narrated the dream and it's frequent occurance.When consulted with the appropriate person,it was revealed that it was due to "rahu" mahadasha (if i remember correctly).I was suggested to wear Garnet("gomed")ring in silver.To my astonishment,these recurrent dreams really subsided. I'm not advocating any thing nor is this superstion.It may be a psychological effect.But it really helped. As for the interpratation,it can be interpreted in many ways.Mentioning and going into details will make the response too long and might not be purposeful,since it cannot be held absolutely true. But,yes,my dreams are equally incoherent .it seems my mind is a poor editor and fails to make the dream free flowing and logically connected.Just like your's Lol. But nothing to beat my husband's dream narration.It is always so well connected like a super hit movie.Every time he narrated his blockbuster dream,we end pulling his leg and have a good laugh.Neither has he stopped his super narration ,nor do we fail to react in the same manner.Lol.:-D

He must be good at writing plots then,lol.Just kidding :-D I am also wearing a gomed.I don't know if they help ,but the theory in favor of wearing garnets seems strong.Yes,they are open to several interpretations and there is not much proof to support the interpretations.But the possibility of the dreams being a mirror of our aspirations or a message from the higher centre is fascinating.Several articles on the metaphysical incidents have tried explaining them.Perhaps someday we can have a branch of science for studying dreams.:-D

Hi bluewings, if that was my dream I'd put it in the prophetic category. The key to unravelling dreams is to ask "What does it mean to me." We do alot of 'work' in our sleep, unravelling our emotions and experiences. There seems to be a message in there somewhere. What was the feeling in the dream - was it panic, confusion, uselessness? Often questions to yourself bear fruit. Are you getting closer to your goals or further away. Is what you are doing in life easy or a struggle. What is going to make you drown (not literally). Dreams are not a clear realm to understand but if you bring it back to questions about yourself then you may get clarity. The falling dreams can by synonamous of several things. One is astral travelling, often coming back into the body feels like a falling sensation with elements of fear attached. People have re-experienced incarnating, coming into the womb as a sense of falling as the realm of earthly existence is quite dense and the 'pull' of consciousness down into the physical can have a heavy falling feeling.

Maybe it means swimming in a pool of an ocean liner is more supportive than swimming in an ocean where you can never get to shore. I don't remember my dreams but when I do they are prophetic. They're usually in cartoon form, I sometimes think presences are trying to tell me something and do it like this so I'll get the message! LOL.

Is that falling dream really repeating itself? If so, try to put more consciousness into it. You may be able to slow everything down so you start to see yourself leaving and re-entering the body. Now that is a major achievement if you can do that.

That's a masterly explanation of the falling dream,atleast to me.There is so much I get to learn here! Yes,perhaps the context and the feeling is more important than a generic explanation of the dream even if the falling dream repeats itself. My feeling after watching that dream wasn't unsettling ,but funny and confused on how I found myself in the swimming pool of a ship when I was struggling to stay afloat in an ocean,lol.I enjoyed the dream and was more analytical than panicky.Thanks Tetchie!:-)

indeed dreams know no rules... bluewings, personally i donot have any belief in dream whatsoever and find the interpretations pretty much weird and offputting. dreams are but rendition of our thoughts (conscious and sub-conscious) and occurrences over the past few hours or even the past few years. my dreams are as incoherent as the one you have mentioned and i try not to figure out the meaning out of them. more so, when a gross dream interpretation could demotivate us. however, bluewings, if it is a good one, no harm in contemplating. LOL PS: welcome back.

Maybe God wants to tell you that whenever you are in the midst of a huge problem, and you think nobody on earth can help you, you might be wrong , just as in your dream you found yourself drowning helplessly in the ocean but finally you realised that it was just a swimming pool with plenty of people to save you!And maybe you want to achieve something, which at the moment, you are finding really hard. maybe God wants you to try a little more, have faith in him and do not be scared of failure, because he would always be there to hold you in his arms, he wont ever let you drown my friend, like he protects every good child of his.I like to believe I'm one of them too. Yesterday night I dreamt that I was running for my life ,jumping like spiderman from one apartment to another. Lol! But it was damn scary, and then when i jumped from one of the houses, I came into a jungle with countless green snakes(the slimy ones you often find on trees), and then I was stepping on them and finally I was able to reach another home. It was a very filmy one Lol! I often dream of my exams, my result and they mostly are not in my favour. that scares me most Lol. i dont have to struggle much to recall my dreams as i dream of things i fear the most , throughout the day, so i dont forget them . when i was younger i used to dream that i am with Alladin searching for treasure.hehehe...those were fascinating dreams. i seldom dream of something happy (can't figure out why).

Well friend, if i start talking about the weird dreams that i had then you will just blast out laughing at me. But then i can tell one of the dream that i had and few things that i was able to recall was: I have a race with the tiger. I tell the tiger that I will run now and you have to catch me! LOL, i am sure that it is very much weird. But this is only one dream that i am telling out. If i start telling everything then i should be admitted in some mental hospital ;P

No obvious logic to most dreams! Anytime I dream of water, though, I pay more attention to the dream. Sometimes water is a symbol for life, sometimes for spiritual reservoirs/sources/resources. If that were my dream I'd think my brother and I were way off track, lost despite our strivings, unable to reach a safe, secure place in our lives -- AND praying for a "miraculous" rescue. Then you're in a pool with lots of people trying to instruct you (save you) and getting frustrated when you don't pay attention or act on their advice. It sounds like you both have a lot of caring people around you. But, you're both frustrating these people by not listening to them. THEY are your miraculous rescue -- listen to them! Good Luck!!

Never thought about the dream like that.I dreamt it a few months back and I thought it was from a past vacation we spent at a beach with our families (he is my cousin) when I had an accident.You explanation has so much clarity!Thanks,Egfitz!!

Aaah, if you actually had an accident back then I think your dream may be trying to warn you that you may be heading for another one! Especially if you are in a situation now where you might "be in over your head!" Naturally, it wouldn't be the same kind of accident, but a misfortune more related to your current activities (like getting fired from your job, or something like that.) Dreams are just so fascinating in their symbolism and complexity!

I like eg's explanation. I have lots of weird dreams like that. In our dreams we know no boundaries. They follow no logic but their own. I do think that they are our subconscious trying to tell us things. So do pay close attention.

well, weird dreams like this one is common. but i take this to be a warning for you. this dream is telling you that there is something which your brother and you are working on. this project will probably not be realized no matter how much effort you exert to give it a try to succeed. as for the swimming pool and the people screaming? the switch came just as soon as the alarm went off. our dreams switch fast to the things we perceive around us.
@bluewings (3857)
13 May 07
Ah,probably it's true.Well,it would mean that when the warning comes ,I will be better positioned to handle the circumstances , as in a pool instead of the deep sea.I wonder who will be my savior(clock),lol.

Dreams, dreams, dreams. There ia no bar hold or rules for them they can do whatever they want to. They can show you anything and I mean anything. That's whay I always say that they are one of the two thing that have more speed than light. They are just unthinkable. I never remember my dreams.

When you dream something, it has got meaning. I can interpret your dream. Your dream reveals that you are going to do some project or something without an idea, considering it would be easy and matter of routine but without knowing its indepath of the project and the hurdles you would face. Your dream interpret that it is going to be tough project and with all difficulties you would ultimately achieve your goal with God blessings. In your case you dreamt like swimming that is why it is a problem whereas if you would have dreamt that you were flying then that would bring a lot of happiness, prosperity and fame.
@bluewings (3857)
8 May 07
Ah,Thanks for the interpretation,Navtech! I love the water ,but yes,I would have enjoyed flying as much as the water.You can sense the freedom.I never had a dream where I had wings.Waiting for that one to come,lol.

lol,you are really interesting.if you are a writer,those can be your precious materials. i never dream things like swimming or other things related to water,i don't know how to swim,so maybe that's the reason why i never dream about it. but i do dream about the movies or tv programs i've watched in the day,but i can hardly remember the next morning,and i never tried to remember those dreams,because i think if it was impressive,i'll never forget it. and i've heard that dream reflect your daily life,what you thought on the day would come into your dream at night,sometimes it is true for me,when the next day i have to take an exam,that night i will dream that i am doing the test,the bad thing is,i don't know the result,lol,what a pity.

When I was in standard five,I dreamt of our annual question paper and I remembered two questions.One was about Buddha and the other about a comedian who was a courtier to one of our kings.When I shared it with my friends and it appeared in the paper they asked if I had seen the papers before the exam,lol. Oh,I get only the regular dreams just like you.It's only on promising days that I have dreams like the one I posted.If I had a golden dream everyday,then I would have sold them to Spielberg and bagged a truckload of cash,lol.I wouldn't care whose name he used as script writer,lol.

I have a recurrent dream which always involved water as its main element. But the "sea" would sometimes be so deep and quiet. That it will make you wonder if something is bound to happen. Sometimes, they are so furious and wild, and so dark too. But I think these dreams happened at the time I had so many things going into my life. And I have heard that water is a good omen. It signifies success or struggles to come. And with its flow and a great dexterity to succeed, trials will pass. And in my dreams, the water will be still flowing no matter what happens. So even if I wake up uncertain and with a little bit of anguish. I know that these dreams want me to be stronger. Maybe for your dream, the change of the ocean to the swimming pool, means you have finally found your element, your most comfort zone. And the people around you are friends, yet to known. They will be there to help you , to support you, in reaching your goal. And maybe, that's why your brother was there too, because you have a certain bond, that you know if ever you will fail, or you are uncertain. He will always be there to help you and watch over you. I think dreams are messages encrypted into our subconscious, mind and heart. They are questions and answers to our endless queries about our lives. And whatever amount of interpretations done for them, the key still lies in the hand of the beholder. (^^,)
@bluewings (3857)
8 May 07
Yes, dreams or nightmares perhaps want us to become stronger and prepare for the times to come.Thanks for the analysis.It could well be true.Atleast I can see how the same dream can be interpreted as a positive and negative alike.It depends on how our mind perceives it. They certainly need to be decoded for us to follow the message and if we have the key to us ,perhaps we could prepare ourselves better for the battles that await us.Thanks!:)

Lol... yeah my dreams are like yours too. In dreams nothing is logic but when it is happening it feels like very real. I have a weird dream about running away from something and at one point I was hiding under a table. But suddenly I was in a cupboard and the thing knew that I was in there. So, there's no logic at all in dreams. But it sure is interesting if we could turn it out into a reading subtance (entertainment) or movie.

Congratulations! You had a good dream. According to an ancient Chinese book "zhou Gong Jie Meng (Mr. Zhou's explanation of dreams)", a dream about flowing water suggests good luck. So you will enjoy good luck in the days to come. I am not sure who Mr. zhou is.Maybe the Emperor of the Zhou dynasty(1,100-256 BC.). I only know this book is still popular among many old people in China.

the door of dreams - dreams
First off, dreams do mean a lot. They are your subconscious mind's way of telling you what's really going on. Secondly, i have a good idea of what your dream meant. Your mind is trying to tell you that you're feeling insignifigant and you desire acceptance, perhaps importance. Maybe you should do something in your waking life to make your mark... As about me i had a weird dream a month ago.It started out with me laying in bed. I got up and i grabed a sword from under my bed then walked out of the door and was suddenly on a mighty steed climbing a mountain. I was than facing a wall of the mountain that was flatter than the rest. I began to throw bombs at it and suddenly i was standing inside. I looked about. Water rushed past my feet, a large pipe on each side with stone walls. Beyond this tunnel was a city. I was then suddenly standing at the edge watching a man cart-wheel past me. A boy walked up to me and there was something about him that made me think he was not human. I than was greeted by this person. He said "welcome to (I can't remember what the name of this place was)." We were than sitting in a 50's type cafe and were chatting. I then asked him why he and the other people there were giving off a different vibe than other people. At that moment i noticed that all of their ears were slanted and pointed. It hit me, they were all elves and i woke up...uf!! (For type in a very good english this dream i had to make blackmail with my daughter which talk fluent english...and she help me but said is the last time...lol...ha ha ha-but i am sure in a bad english you couldn't understand a "weird dream" like this). augusta
