We don't have a public buses in the little town I live in. I often wish they did have a bus service here. Does your area have it?? Do you use it? What could be done to improve it?

i wish the city where i lived in had no transport facilities, there are too much.i hope all people here in my city can use bicyles to go to work or school.lol,i know it's just impossible. every day,i will get annoyed by the loud noise of buses, cars and motors,i can't even find a peaceful quiet place where i lived in,except during the midnight.

I wouldn't like never having it quiet either. I just think that we all waste so much gas by driving our personal car everywhere rather than taking public transport. It would be nice if we could all use bicyles wouldn't it!

I live in Los Angeles county in the state of Caiforia. My city is Santa Monica. Los Angeles county has nothing, if it does not have public transportation. Since I do not drive, I have been using public transportion all my life and I have traveled all over this county and that is no where that a bus has not been able to get me within three blocks of. I guess we really are spoiled out hear. Since I am only 19 blocks from the beach, there is at least one major bus line for every main street out hear. It makes life very convient for non-drivers. If I lived in an area where there were no bus lines, I would be almost totally immobile.

That's great, wish we had them here like that. I lived in San Jose for awhile when I was young. {boy was I young, that was 45 years ago] And I used the bus for everything back then. I never found having to wait a few minutes all that hard either. Did sometimes have to go early to appointments ect, but it was worth it not to have the hassle of parking a car.

I live in a city where there is ample availability of transport facilities right from autorikshaw to buses. But i never use them. There is a large population of labour class here as this is an industrial town and these people are very untidy and it stinks traveling with them. Although there are buses which have high fare and are in the reach of upper middle class only still there are persons who would leave no stone unturned to brush with women. I am not among those who take these things lightly so i never use public transport.

Ewwwwwww, I never thought of that. That is one of those things that would have to be worked on, wouldn't it. I wonder if maybe buses should have a constable type person on them to keep things more decent.

If you live in a little town, everything is within walking distance, so there is no problem and you don'tneed a bus. I live in Calgary Alberta, andwe ar supposed to have a bus service, but they may have gone on strike this morning. Sadly, I am one of those people who believes that if you have bus service, no matter how bad, you shouldn't drive a car. Here, because the city wants to stop seniority priviliges here, and pay the same to ALL transit workers, no matter how long they've been on the job, it doesn't look like there will be an equiable settlement any time soon. The city is actually in court now trying to get an injunction to lock the bus drivers out. What can I say, our mayor is an idiot. If he gets the injunction, he will not be re-elected

Yep, politians can/often are idiots. I agree with you about using the bus service. but I do have to add to your comment about walking in small towns. While I agree that is good, for some of us that isn't an option. I can manage to walk in my house some, but outside I have to use my walker, and rest very often.

We have public transport where we live, i very rarely use it but i have used it a few times and it is really decent the only think i would change are the bus drivers because they are either as thick as two short planks or really arrogant

Yes, it is hard to get perfectly behaved drivers. I wonder if comment cards in busses would help. May I ask why you don't use the bus more often? And is that changing with the price of gas?

I dont use public transport much because i have this modern invention called the mother who drops me off at nearer places but i use trains to go into london but i dont like bus drivers because they are nasty sometimes and rude so i dnt use them

LOLOL, nice to have a mother to do that!!!!!! Does your mother complain about the price of gasoline?? That is one of the reasons I would like to see more bus routes.

that must be difficult for you if you dont have a car i think even dangerous as you have to walk everywhere or get taxis late at night maybe there should be a service but then in such a small area you may have to wait for hours for the bus to come still it would be useful i always use the bus and train but i live in a city so its different and there are bus stops in most areas even far out from the city centre

It does seem that there are no easy answers. While bus and train routes would save a lot of fuel and pollution, there is still the problem of safty, both on them and at the scheduled stops. Rural areas, of course, don't have the convience of a bus running by very often, making waits longer.

Oh, that's inconvenient. Thus, everyone drive there? The place I am living do have public transport but we have to walk about 1/2 mile. The waiting time is about 30 minute during weekday and 45min during weekend. The resident over here normally drive. For myself, I will walk 0.8mil to the grocery to buy daily stuff. I have yet to use the public transport, reason being it is not convenient and took longer time than walking.
