Is it better to wash your face with cold or hot water? If there isn't one that is better, what do they do differently to your face? Thank you!

Neither, use luke warm water. Cold water is good to splash on your face after washing and rinseing it to shock your pores and help them close up.

I always think if I wash my face with warm to hot water; it will remove all the oil build up if there is any much easier then cold. I always like to rinse my face in cold water because I think it closes up the pores. I have no clue if I am right about that but that is what I do.

First warm water to open up the pores, this way it'll pretty much clean itself or you can add to that of course. Then was off with cold water to close the pores again preventing dirt and such from getting in easily at that time.

so do you mean wash with warm water for a while, then switch to cold. Or do you mean when you wash you face twice at one time, first wash with hot and then with cold?

Lukewarm water's best. Hot or overly warm water will open up your pores, but it'll trap soap in them. You won't be able to rinse it all out because a pore is wider in the "pit" of it than at the opening. Cold water closes pores but doesn't clean as effectively. But lukewarm water once (or twice a day if you wear makeup) should be fine. Most people find splashing cold water on their faces during the day helps reduce oiliness.

I have read that room temperature water is best because it does not shock your skin.
