Hey everyone. I have a 16 month old boy who has a bit of a runny nose. He has had it for almost 2 days now and i want to help to try and get rid of it. I have tried rubbing a little bit of vix under his nose. Baby panadol work but only for a little bit i only use it when he cant sleep because of it. He is a thumb sucker and sucks his thumb when he is asleep. Any hints on how i can help get rid of it?? All comments welcome.

Do you have a humidifier? Run it by where he sleeps so he can breathe better. Also spraying saline helps, spray it up there and it flushes it out, sometimes you need to use the bulb syringe (booger sucker) too.

Saline nasal drops (non-paediatric) 2-3 times a day helps remove infection, but consulting a child specialist is best.

There is not much you can do to get rid of a cold . It has to run its course and all you can do is make your son as comfortable as possible until it has run its course . If you can get him to drink lots of fluids might speed it up a bit to help him fight it off a bit and I wouldn't force him to eat during this time if he is not hungry but other then that , I don't beleive there is much you can do . Take Care , there is nothing worse when you little one is not feeling well :)
