In our society,we are taught right from wrong.in our childhood ,our family had told us that the root of crime was poverty.although poverty is often cited as the main cause of crime, and poor people blame the rich ,because the rich control the money ,jobs and so on .but if the poor have not found ways to change poverty, and bore the poor life, they will commit a crime .In the world ,many poor country have a high rate of crime compared with rich country ,so can I say that poverty is bad,If we want to reduce the high rate of crime ,wu must reduce the poor.what do you think ?

not all crimes are related to poverty. there are different types of crimes known to society... crimes of passion, self-defense, money related, terrorism, political etc. i wouldn't say that all those are related to being poor. i'm working with some of the poor communities in my country. and so far, crime rate within these commmunities are very nil, almost non-existent. these poor communities are being educated and assisted to improve their economic, social and health status. money-related crimes are done not necessarily by just poor people. they are more like uneducated and misguided personalities who only like to have easy money... disregaring the right and clean way to make a living. i would think they are lazy, not poor. being poor is just their scapegoat, for lack of a better reason why they committed a crime. they couldn't blame themselves for doing something wrong so they blame their family and the government for being poor. being poor is not a hindrance to education and a better life. i met several people from poor communities who made it big and became rich without violating the law. being poor is no reason for committing a crime. it lies on the person itself.

Not all crimes are related to poverty. I agree though that many crimes are motivated by an individual's poor condition but certainly, there are crimes that occur because of reasons other than poverty. Nevertheless, I also agree that poverty is something that any nation should defeat because eliminating poverty means eliminating the reason for many crimes. It's only sad that defeating poverty is almost an impossible fight.

some people cannot handle money. some people cannot handle money problems. The harder times are with jobs shortages and everything so espensive....gas prices alone are so bad... but, when people are hungry and feel trapped and cant figure out what to do, sometimes they do have problems in crime. If they do not have skills that to figure out rational, legal ways, they may get into problems... I do think that things are way too high and yes , it always make crime worse.......
