The Board says that Days may write Alice's funeral into the storyline, thus ending her storyline. It was implied that this what she has asked the show to do.
Myself,I don't like this at all!I know she's getting up and age and has probably decided to leaves is the best but she IS the show and I hate the thought of her not being around.....it will be a sad day in Salem when the day actually comes

Well I believe it would be a good thing for the show give everybody including us some closure.

I am kinda glad they are finally letting her retire. I know i had read a couple years back that she wanted to retire and they wouldnt really let her. So they put her in very few times. I am hoping with not having to work maybe her health will improve a little. I wondered why she wasnt at Sami's wedding. Let the soap vet finally retire and let her get some rest.

Back when she wanted to retire they needed her for the S/L's....once that was done,they tried to get her to leave and she wouldn't but I guess now she's decided it's time and I too am glad.....the dear thing looks so tired when on the air it's a sin!

The last time I saw her on the show- she looked terrible- health wise- I think it is time to write her off the show- give her some dignity especially if she is asking to be done. It will be a sad sad day in Salem- I can't wait for all the flashbacks of Gram in her younger years. I can't wait to see Tom too!

Oh that will definitely be very sad to see. I hate to see Alice go even though she hasn't been on in awhile. I was very upset the last time they "killed" her off and all of the other ones but I was very happy that they brought them all back. If they wouldn't have that would have ruined the show. I hope this is just a rumor but we will see. Thanks for posting this. :)

Aww that is sad. Maybe she needs a break from tv just to enjoy family I hope. I was just thinking of this yesterday. I thought maybe they would wait until she really passed away..that would be really sad
