Lastnight I kept hearing a female voice saying "adios". It freaked me out since I'm alone with my son. Then I realized that it was his stupid drum that my sister in law bought him. She has no children so she likes to buy anything that is loud and battery operated. So I walked into the living room and it was turned off! I walked away and it said "adios" again! I opened our door to the garage and threw it in there so I could get some rest lol, but that was really weird! It's similar to the one in the pic below. So does your children have any phantom/haunted toys?

I don't have any haunted toys that I know of - but I'm not sure what they do when I'm not around! I have been completely freaked out by a ouija board, but that's a whole 'nother story!

I'm glad to hear you've had this experience too. I had a bagful of old toys in storage in the basement, and one night I heard the very creepy voice of Dipsy (the Teletubbie), saying "Heh heh heh - Big Hug". Of course my husband happened to be out of town, and the voice started up around midnight. I checked online to find out how this could be possible, before working up the nerve to hunt for him. A few people mentioned that old batteries will sometimes create a power surge, just before they wear out. I don't believe in ghosts, but I still patted myself on the back for bravery for venturing into the basement and deactivating him.

While staying at my in-laws, my daughter has this wooden puzzle that has all the shapes on it. When you remove the shapes, it will tell you what kind of it. If everything is in place, it doesn't make a sound. Then one night, I was checking on her, I heard voices coming from her toy box. I almost jump and scream. But then, I told myself that God is watching over us and I will not let fear win me. So, I investigated. I realized that if there will be movement on the floor or vibration, the toy will make a sound. I brought the toy outside the room and was stomping on the floor and the sounds come from it. I was like whew........ My only mistake was not warning my mother-in-law about that toy. Me and my husband watched a movie and when we came home...she had the holy water out and doing the rosary. She told us, she heard this creepy sound when she entered my daughter's room. I went there with her and stomp around...and told her about the toy. She breathed a sigh of relief...she was thinking there were spirits in the house...=) I know she was scared during that time and I dare not laugh. Where is the toy now? The battery had run out and no plans of getting new batteries...LOL

My son has a Tigger that just went off out of the blue sometimes. We took the batteries out, but left it in the house. It was freaking the dogs out so bad when it would just go off! We didn't even have to go anywhere near it for it say "Hey! How 'bout a hug?" And then both the dogs would bark and growl at it for a good 3 minutes, since they knew Elliott hadn't been playing with it.

we have had several toys act up like that but only when they are in our living room and everyone is in their bedroom. We had the Laugh & Learn: Learning Home go off one night and the sound that went off only activates when the door is opened, we don't have any pets. That one really freaked me out and of course i'm the one who has to go check weird sounds out. Just the other night we had Dusty the Talking Vacuum start up and started talking which it only does when it moves. I checked it out and it was in the same position it was in when i went to bed so who knows. Other toys have gone off as well, like cars you have to shake to make a noise, and they only do it when they are in the living room. The learning home was relocated to my sons room and has not gone off on it's own since. Just some weird stuff and freaks me out everytime.

My granson has a toy which stays at my house which has a really strange spooky laugh and sometimes at night it suddenly goes off for no apparent reason, it drives us nuts and he won't take it home, we now put it under a blanket ehich seems to have helped.

Thats kind of funny. I was sitting here at the computer late one night and all was quiet. All of a sudden music started playing. It scared the crap out of me. It turned out to be one of my grandson's toys that the batteries were dying or something. I had to remove the batteries so it would shut up. And although it isn't a toy, I swear my tv was possessed. It would turn on and off all by itself and even change the channels. We had to unplug it.

My son has the same drum and I can't stand it, I don't think it has ever gone off by itself though =) Usually when the batteries are getting low my kids toys will go off when someone walks by. At night when the kids are in bed I will be walking around the house and something will go off and scare the crap out of me. If it doesn't stop I will throw the toy outside...I don't want to be creeped out all night =)

I am so glad you mentioned this!!! We have a toy which when the baby kicks a platform it sings and some balls rotate, etc. Anyway there is an on/off switch and a number of times it has started up all buy itself with no one anywhere near it to set it off. The first time was when she was too small to use it so I had it in the basement. I went down to do some laundry and it started, lol I never ran so fast! I wouldn't go back down into the basement for about a week after that! She also has a chicken that balks pretty loudly, you are supposed to press this button in on his foot for 10 seconds to turn him off and I do and a few minutes later he starts up again! How annoying!!

You have really got wonder what it is saying when you arent there if it is giving you a goodbye when you are not. I don't have any children and unfortunately no toys but I didn't enjoy this discussion. When my sister has kids i iwll buy them toys that speak.
