An 'empty feeling' - sadness,;anxiety,;tiredness;loss of interest in daily activities; weight gain or loss; feeling of guilt and helplessness; persistent aches and pains; thoughts of death or suicide... These are the symptoms to spot. Now - how to get over it / The only way to overcome depression is to be busy and active.

Iv myself experienced many of these symptoms../though am a very positive and happy go lucky kinda gal but still i went thru quite a lot of depression a year befiore..i didn't really see any doc or any1..i guess uyou just need someonme you can talk to..in the sense you want someone who dosn't question u or anything for what yoyu're feeling..why you'r feeling like that and stuff....i realized much of mty depression was because of many emotions which i neva cpuld show to anyone but i should've...i used to have long talks with some of my closest frndz..infact i bonded more with my fam,ily members as well....if not anything else..you should just write about anythuing and everything...indulge in activities you like..it would help keep ur mind off from negative thoughts...

I agree. And it is better if you can catch it in the beginning stages, because after you get really depressed it is harder to be active and busy. And, it is better to keep busy and active to avoid getting depressed

I think with all those symptoms it would be wise to see a professional as it could be clinical depression and not just the blues!

There are psychological and physical causes of depression, and no matter what the cause, activity/exercise can help by increasing levels of certain chemicals in your brain. There are other things that can help, such as listening to music that makes you feel good, talking to a good friend, or doing some other enjoyable activity.
