ok, heres my opinion why we Christians call priests father and of course we call nuns as mother...ok father because in a Christian (Catholic) pardon me, take for example in our home, its our parents that teaches us the very lessons we need in life to survive, our parents explains to us things that we sometimes can not comprehend and our parents are the first hand help that we can get, its also the same in Catholic Priests and Nuns, Father because they act us our guides and in poor communities the priests acts like the protector of the people not just to those oppressing them and also the priest organizes helping the community like during calamities etc. They act as shepherds of the people, well supposed to be...but this thing is really i believe they earned the Father thing. not just custom or its forced. it is earned...

What I mean was what is your guys opinion towards the peoples who got lost on why do they call the priest is a father? Is that mean that there is something which is missing or confusing with the Christianity or the Catholic it self? Is it from the human/mankind or from the religion it self which makes the follower get lost with that matter?

the catholics are accustomed to calling their priests 'father' because they have it traditionally. it is embodied in their cathechism teachings that that's how the priest shall be properly called. it will appear to us, that they are regarding their priests as the father of their religion, as they address the priests that way.
