I just recently wrote a piece for Helium, "Trillion dollar coma- Fashion and the girls from Auschwitz": http://www.helium.com/tm/320792 Self explanatory, but I'd be interested to hear of anyone's experiences and opinions about this global atrocity.

I think your article is excellently written, but I wouldn't call the weight of runway models an atrocity... Of course, everyone knows by now that starving yourself until bodily functions start to fail is a terrible condition and a mental illness. But, I also think the extreme negativity surrounding anorexia and the fashion industry makes life difficult for girls (and guys) who are naturally very thin. I have a close friend who eats just as much as everyone else, but she has been thin as a twig for as long as I have known her. There is nothing wrong with her, that is simply her normal body weight. There seems to be a recent trend to make girls who strive to lose weight and feel attractive feel like they are doing something wrong. There are many people who are light eaters and are very thin who are labeled as anorexic because of all the outrage surrounding this issue, and it doesn't seem entirely fair...
