People that rents wants to be able to move and to venture themselves. People that buys wants to settle down and grown roots. People that leases are in the middle of the way. Anyway that's my view and how I deal with real state.

we own and the biggest advantage is we dont have to worry about ever losing our house for any reason. plus we can do what ever we want to the place. and their is not a payment each month to worry about. one less bill.

Well, where I live, very few people can afford to buy anything. That's why I'm renting. I have always wanted to buy but housing is extremely expensive, even for renters. Most people don't make enough to qualify for loans that can turn them into buyers. I have lived in the same place for 13 years and I don't like to move around.

It is an interesting situation because the amount you pay for rent or mortgage should be similar. The difference is that after 20 years or so you can have a house.

Yeah, it shouldn't be much more to own than to rent. But, owning can cost up to three or four times the amount to rent an apartment in a low-income area. Plus, you have to qualify for the loan. I have excellent credit, but I found that I have to make around twice as much to afford the mortgage payments for even the lowest-price condos. And, that doesn't include maintenance and fees. Thanks for the best response, by the way.
