I just heard about a young boy named Shane who lives in Ontario, Canada, and is battling lymphoblastic leukemia. His wish for his 8th birthday on May 30th is to beat the world's record for the most birthday cards ever received. This is such an easy thing to do to give a little joy and make Shane happy as he endures treatment! Go to the following website for his story and address: http://www.shaneswish.com/index.php You can watch a video of Shane and his wish on Youtube.com: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXz6UJL5oDA Please pass this on to other family and friends! He currently has over 125,000 + cards already and has 19 days to go til his birthday This is real because a close friend of mine that does a dollar ministry also does a card ministry spoke to a lady that lost her son, that shared a room with Shane. Check out the website and his video and see for yourself.

I've heard about Shane from a friend but I think it's great that you posted it on Mylot. Mylot has a bunch of members. I hope some will see this and send him a card. It will only take a few dollars to make a little boys wish come through. Once again, thanks for posting this. I don't know why I didn't think of it.

Your welcome, I'm glad to know that you have heard about Shane. What you just said was the main reason, I put up the discussion in the first place, but to also raise awareness to what Shane is dealing with.

THanks for posting the link to his site. I've got a card in the mail and on it's way to Shane now. Just a reminder if you're mailing a card from the US (Shane is in Canada) the postage rate is 63 cents according to the USPS website (see link below). http://ircalc.usps.gov/intl_speed.asp?CID=10054&MailType=envelope&Pounds=0&Ounces=1

Thank you for sending Shane a birthday card. Also thank you for posting what it would cost to mail a card from the US to Canada.

You're welcome. I just wanted to make sure that if people wanted to send a card that they would affix the correct postage to ensure that it gets to Shane before his birthday.

I wonder how is Shane now. I only found this discussion recently and when you posted it, I am not yet with myLot. It was very touching and very saddening. Kids with such diseases could really make my heart felt like prickled. I wish I had known about this issue long ago so I may have my part in sending him his birthday wish.
