Last week,I helped my mama to tidy up the wardrobe and we picked up some old-fashioned clothes.Actually we don't know how to deal with them, them are still nice but just old-fashioned.Once we gave the old-fashioned clothes to some people who needed it,such as the cleaner in my mum's firm. And once we tried to DIY the old-fashioned clothes, but the "new" clolthes weren't good enough. We just wore it as the casual clothes at home. But this time,we have no idea to dealing with these clothes. So please give me suggestion and please share your experience of dealing with old-fashioned clothes. Thanks!

Normally I would like to tidy my wardrobe by the end the year so as the pick out the unused clothes. I usually donate those new and serviceable clothes to the charity organization here. I would keep some of them which I could make them as materials for rugs and underlays.

I think tidying the wardrobe by the end the year is a good habit,Ikbooi! I think what you do is right because we should help others who need help. I have found another discussion here talked about a similar problem and I told the user some suggestions from your advice. Thank you!Your suggestion can resolve my problem.

For those that I think that I will not going to wear it, I will give away to friends, cousin or charity. As for those, I think that I will still wear it but not now, I will air-tight them and keep in the suitcase.

We always give ours to charity shops and they sell them, collect the money and give to those more unfortunate. If you have any Han Fu, I will have it lol.. I love old fashioned Chinese Clothes and I want to get my Husband who is Chinese to wear Hanfu!! I don't know if China has charity shops like U.K but I think you can find some less fortunate ones to give the older clothes to. This is a good feeling on your part to recycle the clothes to someone that may need them. Good luck in finding the right person for them.

Hi,yanjiaren!! Thanks for your response! Well,I'm not sure whether there is any charity shop near my neighborhood, but as I mentioned it above,in our neighborhood, there is an office to deal with charity. You mentioned Hanfu!!Woa,I'm very happy that you are interested in Chinese culture. Now,Hanfu is a big word to describe the Old Chinese Clothes,I think you want to say Tangzhuang?Tangzhuang is the common traditional Chinese clothes in the world.Tangzhuang is popular in the whole world, isn't it?

I love saving my moms clothes. I know its old fashioned but I'd love to try to wear them and set a new trend. Just different than anybody else. And mix them with my new clothes. I've done that and most of the time I got a nice comment, some even asked where I bought them. For the one that I don't think will fit me of course I will give them to other people that need them more.

Thanks for your responding apakabar2007! To be honest, now I think that the definition of "fashion" doesn't contain the word "old-fashion" or "out-of-date".Because each clothes represents the new circle of fashion. And now the mix-match is a trend between fashionable girls. For me,I will save some of my mom's clothes because they're really hot in recent days or in future.

Hello shinjiao If you still want to wear it, you can mix and match with other fashion clothes. But if you don't want to wear it anymore, you can give to the charity or anyone who need them. God luck *angel

I think if you can't make full use of them, give them to the person who need it ,which is benevolent and can make your old-fashioned clothes exert its use:)

hi shinjiao! ^__^ we usually give away old clothes to our relatives who want them. most of our old clothes don't really go out of style. they usually use it when going to market, going into the park, and as house clothes. us too, we use our old clothes as house clothes. sometimes, we use them as rags. there was once a time that we sold our old clothes. it could have been a good business but we couldn't really give enough time for it because we were busy with work. ^__^

We usually donate them to charity, which is very easy as the set pick ups and all we have to do is bag up the clothes and leave them outside the door. Some of the things get held back though for the children's dress up box and theyget great mileage out of them, like yesterday when an outfit was needed on the fly for the School Fashion Through the Ages. Very handy!

Thanks for your response! Yes, donating the old-fashioned clothers to charity is a good opinion. We are capable enough to make our living so that we should help others. In my neighborhood, there is an office for the charity,we can donate clothes, money, and old-furniture to others;or we can directly put some clothes outside the office.

sometimes i do spring clean my closet and sort out my clothes. i donate the clothes that i don't want anymore. unless the clothes is not in a good condition anymore then i'll probably just throw it or use it as a rag haha.
