What force and strength cannot get through....but I can....

What force and strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can do. And many in the street would stand, were I not a friend at hand. What am I?

The only thing I can think of is a door key. Some doors cannot be kicked down. Also if one does not have a key or has lost it they cannot enter through a door. Don't know...just a guess. I love riddles and once in a great while I can solve them. Have a nice day. +

I have to agree with door key, its all i can think of, but would it not be a gentle twist not touch. Doorbell perhaps the friend is an indication that it is not your own house you are wishing to enter.

I have to go with door key, makes a lot of sense. Of course...give my a battering ram and see if I can get hrough *evil*
