I went to the dentist today for the first time in 6 years!!! YUCK! I have just gotten lazy since having my kids. I went twice a year to the dentist before kids and since, just haven't made the time. Well, went today for cleaning and found out I have THREE cavities! :( I am 36 years old and have NEVER had a cavity and now I have 3! She said they were little, though but I needed to take care of them now. So, I am going in July to get them filled. I am SCARED as hell!! LOL Since I haven't had a cleaning in so long, it was pretty intense and now my mouth and teeth and gums are KILLING me! I have taken Motrin and gargled salt water, but I am still in so much pain! LOL This is horrible! :) Ok, I am through whining...thanks for letting me vent. :)

Tell me about it. The other day my partner gave me chocolate with mint chips in it and the bloody chips stuck to my teeth and pulled away part of my tooth. I went and made an appointment today as I have a fear my filling will fall out. For me though it's not so much visiting the dentist, it's how much it is going to cost me as I am down as a private patient and not down as NHS. So my bill is going to be very large. I hate visiting the dentist and the chair we have to sit in and the horrible suction tube they always place in your mouth is horrible. While they are making a fortune, we have to always suffer this discomfort. I hope all goes well for you, I'm going Friday and already I am panicing!!

I am sorry to hear that you have three cavities as that can not be very pleasant at all. I have had cavities in the past and had them filled. Having the cavities filled is not painful, though can be expensive if you do not have dental coverage. You should try Crest Pro Health toothpaste and Crest Pro Health mouthwash to help prevent cavities, gingivitis and other gum disease. I found those items very helpful as well as flossing. It is definitely important to see the dentist twice a year.

Sounds exactly like what happened to me on my last dental visit. I feel your pain sister. (pun intended) I also had to have a darned root canal. OH MY GOSH, that was horrible. Apparently one cavity had been brewing so long that the tooth was not fixable. So, do take care of those little ones before they get worse! I swear, if my teeth keep giving me so many problems, I am going to have them all pulled and get a set of false ones. It was good enough for my grandmother and grandfather! Just think of the fun I could have with them too.....I could 'cough' and pull them out in my hand and scare little chldren on Halloween....and countless other fun things! Ha!
