Of HYIPs and greed

I just came back from an HYIP forum and typical are the discussions - after a while, you get people who say they are still waiting for payments, that the HYIP is a scam, the scheme is illegal, etc. And I laugh at those people. Funny how the very same people who put their money into the HYIP almost never said it was a scam or question its legality BEFORE they decided to put in their money or when they were getting the profits? I mean, a scam is a scam, a PONZI is a PONZI, an illegal scheme is illegal irregardless of whether you get yourself burnt or not. Funny how the same people keep quiet when they got paid and never put their conscience on the line to ask whether it is right to take other people's money as their so-called profit, when they were getting money from the HYIP. Funny how the HYIP wasn't a scam when it was paying and these very same people get other people to invest by singing its praises with no thought of the potential aftermath. They proceed to invest huge sums of money without a thought (some of them food money, mind you) and when they lose everything, they cry foul and accuse everyone other then themselves when it is their own greed to blame. Everybody knows how HYIPs work and the trick is to invest what you can lose. But these people won't listen to naysayers and jump in with everything and when they lose money, they rave and rant. Funny. Funny. I laugh.
