So it got really hot in my room and it woke me up. I looked over and my fan was off. I tried to turn it back on and it would not go on. So i left my room and tried to turn on the hall light and the bathroom light also neither would turn on. My hubby fell asleep on the sofa last night so I went down stairs and yelled that he didn't pay the electric bill. He was like yes I did why. I told him the electric is not working. So we both went outside to see half of our neighbors outside asking if anyone has electric. They all said no. Come to find out the West side of the city was out. It took 2 hours for them to turn it back on. We hear that a generator exploded blew out all the lights. Anyone ever experience this where they live?

Yeah, sometimes. The electric company here in our country is the only electric company, and if it has problems everyone suffers.

This has happened to me before as well and I am sure it will probably happen sometime this summer. Sometimes when it gets too hot outside we lose power, though usually it is for a short period of time. Sometimes it was due to cars crashing into the generators and sometimes the weather played a role in us losing electricity. This winter we went almost an entire day without electricity because of the cold and icy conditions.

Occasionally squirrels get too curious about the transformers. We end up with power outages and barbecued squirrels. Also, sometimes lightning can take the power out. It is miserable, isn't it?

Yes, it does happen here and I hate it. And my usual first thought is did we pay the bill.lol. The reason I hate it, besides not being able to be on the computer, I live in the country so we have a well and a water pump. Without electricity I have no water and no way to flush the toliet. Sometimes the electric will go out but just for a few seconds, and the company says they do this as sort of a maintenence procedure, whatever the heck that means. All I know that it off just long enough for me to lose everything I was doing on the computer and make my clocks blink. I swear someday I am going to buy me a generator.lol.

Do you live in a big city? I forget the word for it, but there's this phenomenon where it's always hotter in the city. Plus all the pollution hands over the city and traps in the UV rays, or something to that effect.

The electric company where I live has definitely improved in the past few years. We used to get it cut off if there was a storm. Almost every home has flashlights, candles and oil lamps because we do lose power when hurricanes are near us.

I've been with out electricity lots of times. Sometimes due to storms or other times due to,too many people running air conditioning. At our old house we had a back up generator, but now we dont. One time we were without power for 3 days.

A couple of weeks ago we had the electric go out for 4 hours in the night. It was a Wednesday night, we where watching Crossing Jorden, it was the one she was suppose to have her surgery. Oh well it went off at 9pm and did not come one until 1 am. The weather was good I could not see a reason for it. We where in the dark as to why it went out. LOL. My husband wheres a CPAP machine to sleep at night for his sleep apnea and I was concerned for him to sleep without it. He did fine for a few hours. We ususally do not have a problem with the power because we live in an area that has good weather. I guess we take it for granted.
