swapping my hard drive

You want to shift your hard disk drive loaded with WinXP to an another system? Definitely you will be in trouble if the mother boards are not same. You can try one thing., U install the hard disk, then switch on the computer. Just after the bios post (I mean first screen that appear) press "F8" key on your key board. You will get the start up menu. select "Safe mode" . If both mother boards are same you wont get much problems, otherwise you can just try this method. and see the result... Let me ask you a question. Do you really want to get into trouble. The better way is to format the drive. (only the drive u want WinXP should be installed..not others...). Then It will work. I guess you want to shift or trasfer a hard-disc with XP installed on it to another PC. I dont have much knowledge, but if your other pc is already working with another windows or OS loaded in it, then you may get problems.. So you can just format it and add it to the existing hard drives... dunno much!! sorry
