Is it coming in late? Talking on cell phones? Talking loudly? Kicking the back of your seat? Laughing so hard when the scene isn't even funny? Once, me and my best friend were in a movie theater and we had the bad luck of sitting beside some, well---weirdos. It's because they probably watched the movie a couple of times and they were so loud. They kept talking with each other about what would happen in the next scene! Come on, people! If you've watched the movie, don't kill it for the rest of us!!! We tried moving a couple of seats away but we could still hear them. What about you? What annoys you most?

It is not what they do, it's those people taller then me who sit in front of me so I cannot see the movie. The next is the people who talk a loud and give away the plot.

Yeah, I really hate people giving away the plot. I'm a tall person but I always make sure, whenever I'm sitting in front of somebody, that I would go low in my chair so as not to block their view.

A lot annoys me, people who can't shut up about whatsoever, people talking on cellphones, people text messaging or checking their phones continuously having those annoying bright screen lights up, etcetera. Usually I just let them be kicked out since it's utterly annoying when watching a movie.

Ouch. I don't think I ever had anyone be kicked out. The ushers in the movie theaters here are lax and I don't even know if they act on complaints of movie goers.

the most annoying ones when seeing a movie are those people who talk so loud. that will include those people who talk to their cellphones while the movie is ongoing. they know that the people who are around to watch a movie would like to know and understand what is it that they came for. yet, these loud ones will not even allow us the joy of being around to watch a movie of our choice.

Yeah, I recently had a cellphone talker sit behind me. That was quite annoying. I know some people are probably looking at her but that didn't stop her from talking.

Its been a while since we went to see a movie. I always hated those people who felt the need to have a conversation while watching the movie. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to sit at home and talk. Or how about the ones who have to get up during the movie to get something. I don't mind them getting up as much as I mind the ones who feel the need to stop right in front of you so that they can look back and ask a question. Hello, didn't you see me sitting here?

I hate when people are making out in a movie theator especially if there in the row in front of me its kind of distracting to watch the movie when two people are making out. I also hate it when you have someone has to leave the aisle and you have to get up thats also pretty annoying.

I don't like people talking loudly, hugging and kissing each other looking like they're on a motel and talking to each other all the time

No, actually it's when ushers come in when the theater isn't even crowded (or worse yet, is a dollar show) and tell you to remove your feet from the seat in front of you. Excuse me, but where did they get the money to even HIRE you, and who am I disturbing by doing this?

I love to put my feet up when the theater is not crowded. I think we were also reprimanded by the usher for doing that but the minute he left I still put my feet up.

Very Good discussion! Really you made a very important point. People in theaters do not bother about others. They will keep talking on cell phone. Someone's child is crying....she will not bother to go outside the theater and make the child at peace. Some People laugh so loudly that you get distubed. Some would keep on moving from their seats and if they are taller than you...it causes problem to back benchers. Some will keep on munching one thing or another. And some of them do such activities which should not be done at public places. I agree, the biggest problem is the persons, who have seen the movie earlier...they will keep repeating its dialogue and scence in advance. People do lot of irritating things to put you off....we have to just bear with them.Because if you pin point their mistakes they will start fighting, baring some genlemen. deepak

Yeah, I just let it go because I always feel like the other person would make a scene. I mean, they're already rude enough not to acknowledge other people, what would stop them from making a scene? LOL.

All the common things that people do in the company of others lacking respect for the individuals who pay good money to see something. That is why I haven't been to the movie theater in so many years ! It is so much more appealing, in your car at a drive-in perhaps (and gosh are those becoming extinct, we have only two within 50 miles of us!) or in your own livingroom with all the food you want to eat at little or no cost, unless it is not your house you are watching the flick at ! Then it is their 'house rules . . .'

Oh, I've always wanted to go to drive-ins but I don't think there's one in my country. Another problem is, I don't have a car to use in the drive in. LOL.

Talk, joke around, laughing at not funny stuff, people who ask questions about the movie when they're watching the same thing I am. Like you've said people who've seen the movie before and say what's going to happen next. When I used to go to the movies all the time I would always go to a matinee during the middle of the week. I've been to several movies where there have only been five people in the entire theater.

OH, my boyfriend does that. He asks all these questions about the movie and I'm like, really concentrating hard to follow the plot but he keeps asking all sorts of questions like, "what did he say? What happened" I mean, come on!I wish all movies have subtitles and earphones so I could just watch in peace and not have him bother me. LOL.

The most annoying thing at the movies is when people talk all through the movie. One time I was at the movies and this guys cell phone kept ringing instead of him turning his cell phone off he kept answering it he talked a little loud and he was sitting in front of me he would get up to talk on the phone. He answered his phone so much his date said something to him about it and they started arguing in theatre while the movie was still playing, and she ended up throwing her soda on him and some soda got on me and some other people sitting near them. That was my worst movie theatre experience EVER!
• Singapore

LOL. Well, if I was his date, I would probably dump soda on him as well.

Without a doubt the most annoying thing people can do in a movie theater is if there are lots of places to choose to sit, but they have to sit right in front of me so I can't see. Or right in front of one of the kids so everyone has t be shifted around. It's like they could sit anywhere at all but they choose to be jerks. I don't like it one bit!
• Singapore

LOL. whenever I'm going to the movies and it's not yet crowded, I always make it a point to sit as far away from anybody as possible so that I wouldn't worry of annoying anyone.

i really do not mind other people when i am at the cinemas...but i am really distracted when i am with my friends and the one who is beside me is my friend and her boyfriend.... i really get distracted because i am usually a talker and when they are at my side, i can't talk to my friend with the fear of disturbing them or something..

With the price of movies, anything distracting or annoying will make me mad. If I had to pick one thing, I could sum it up in one word: Babies!! Don't bring your infant to a zombie movie. Or any movies with loud noises. Or any movies. At all. And if you break rule #1, and your baby starts screaming, take it outside!!

Why would they bring babies to a zombie show? It's supposed to be Rated R.

Wow, all of the above ..lol:-) I can't stand when someone is laughing hard and the scene was not even funny. That's my wife 34Momma, she thinks because we go see a comedy she has to laugh hard at every part.

LOL. I have a friend who's the same as your wife. She just laughs so loud and even laughs at the scenes which weren't even laughable. I try to cover my face whenever I'm watching movies with her. LOL.

I think its talking loudly. Thats for sure. But the worst is when little kids and especially babies are brought in and they start screaming and stuff! One time someone had a fight during the Lion King. I swear they were yelling at each other in the middle of the film. It was SO annoying! Cause then you gotta wait till dvd to watch what you missed. Also problems with the film itself is back. Several times we have had no sound (once), messed up fitting on the screen (few times) and other crap that had to be fixed and messed it up. We saw Lady in the Water and half of the film the angle was off, something happened during X-Men 3 so part of it they messed it up in the middle. Yeah stuff like that too!

Oh yeah, I hate it when kids fight and cry in theaters. I remember a time when a kid was crying so loud in the theater and someone had to shout, "take him outside!". LOL. That was fun. I'm glad that person had the guts to say it or all of us would have to endure the baby crying, and thank God, the mother listened.

Wow...I don't hink I could pick just one from that list. There are so many things that people do at the movie theater that annoys me. I think part of it is that movies are SOOOO expensive. Over $10 in my area, so if I am paying that much, I want to have an anjoyable experience. However it never fails that I have either someone who kicks my seat near by, or someones cell phone goes off....and they they actually take the call! I've also been to R-rated movies where people bring thier babies, and the child cries through the whole movie! Because of this I often go to matinee showings when shows are less crowded. But truly my choice is to wait and watch the movie at home in the comfort of my own home.

I can't wait for the DVD. LOL. Besides, I really like watching my movies on big screens and have surround sound and unfortunately, our TV just doesn't feel the same as watching the movie on the big screen.

Everything that you mentioned in your discussion annoys me. I never come into the theatre late or do anything to annoy others. I pay my money to see the movie and want to see it peacefully. I wish others would do the same. Too bad you had to have your movie experience messed up by a couple of inconsiderate people. Take care and I hope your next outing to the movies will be better...

Yeah, people should be more considerate about other people. I mean, I try my best to stay still in my seat so that I wouldn't kick the seat in front of me and whisper really softly to my company so as to not disturb the peace.

1. smelly people or girls with cheap perfume. 2. this one just happened on the last movie i went to: in a perfectly air conditioned theater, this women started fanning herself, endlessly! for a whole hour she went on and on. the only time she stopped briefly was when i turned my head and stared at her (but maybe her hands got tired). this was so distracting because i could see the flapping next to me and i could also feel the air. 3. saving seats for people that aren't there (and wont be for next 10-20 mins!). 4. people with big heads
• Singapore
14 May 07
LOL. I don't think we could do anything about people with big heads, it's not like the usher could just chop it off. Why the heck would that woman fan herself? Doesn't she feel the airconditioner?!

UGH! A whole bunch of those bother me, and I get irritated just thinking about it. I guess the MOST irritating to me is talking on the cell phone, um hello?! We are trying to watch a movie here people! Also I loathe when they constantly get up and down up and down and you have to move to let them by. Can't they sit still? Kicking the back of the seat irritates me too. Also bringing infants into a loud, R rated movie where they are bound to scream and disturb the other viewers is another no no! I remember going to see "City of Angels" at the theatre, and near the end when the girl is on her bike, and the logging truck is about to hit her, this lady stands up and says "GET THE **#$*#$ OUT OF THE ROAD" LOL I must admit it was funny, but i'm sure everyone was irritated with her!

ROFL. I'm sorry, I really had a good laugh. I remember a story about a local action star here who's so popular that when there's a scene that a guy is about to shoot him from behind, someone in the theater would stand up and shout, "BEHIND YOU!!!" I also hate it when someone screams so loudly because she got surprised by the scene...turns out she was the only one surprised and her screamed echoed throughout the movie theater. LOL.
