I am the mother of two sisters and they are 15 months apart. They fight all the time. i can not take my eyes off of them for two seconds beccause they fight. When does this stop or does this stop. They are 4YO and 5YO. Do they fight all their lives or does it settle down. I would love for them to be best friends but will they ever be?

They'll grow out of it. All sisters fight, even coming to blows sometimes. Lord knows I've been in many fistfights with my twin. She always won, but that's another story. If it's cruel, that's when you need to step in and call it quits, but if it's light stupid arguing, I think you should tell them to find a way to settle it themselves once they're old enough to. I have four sisters of varying ages, and once my twin and I got old enough, we reffed all the fights. So it buffs out.

I am now 23, but up until about 6 years ago, I thought I hated my sister. We are also 15 months apart and fought constantly. We were always very different from each other, and grew further apart as we got older. This changed when she left for college and I was still in high school. This was when I realized that I missed her. When she would come home to visit, we realized how much we could get along and learn from each other. My mom always felt frustrated and helpless when we fought, but she realized that she just needed to not pay attention to the fighting and keep treating us equally since favoritism will cause sibling rivalry (making the fights worse). Needless to say, she is a lot happier today! Your daughters will get along once they realize that a sister will always be there even when friends are not. I hope this is encouraging and helpful!
