beautiful faces, perfect bodies, perfect teeth, flawless skin: all of us can see those kinds of characteristics on women who are seen in beauty magazines. when i was still a teen, i had a lot of acne so there was really a time when i decided to stop buying beauty magazaines because they just make my self-image and self-esteem go down. have you had any similar experiences?

Not at all. As all the beauties published on the magazines are very artificial. Though the beauties look perfect, indeed they have worn lots of make up and used something to cover or hide their flaw. So I don't get insecure feeling at all when I read beauty magazines.

The media and fashion industry have a lot to answer for. The images promote such a poor self-esteem and seem to encourage the idea that to be beautiful you need to be stick thin and gaunt. Beauty is only skin deep after all.
