Flirt: hints or direct invititation?

What is your flirting style and what is the better variant for somebody to flirt with you?
Ladies, are you enough daring to tell your desires to the choosen one or you prefer as lady to be more passive and waiting?
Gentlemen, are you afraid of too active and initiative women, do you treat them as too cheap or/and easy, or for you it`s better and saves time?

Active women simply save time, of course you should keep some fun in it and play a little hard to get from time to time, but you definitely shouldn't play impossible to get since no matter what, it wouldn't be of any interest to keep going for that.
In general though I don't really have a set flirting style, I sort of used to judge the girl on what she'd go for, like if they look confident let them come to you otherwise move on closer to them and initiate contact.
