Have you ever threw out a fleece when you prayed?

This is a hard question. Have you ever "threw out a fleece" when you prayed? For example, have you asked as Gideon wanted to see if God would deliver Israel by his hand, so Gideon placed a fleece of wool on the ground. He ask that there be dew on the fleece, but that the ground would be dry. This happened and Gideon knew to get ready for battle. Have you ever asked for a certain to happen so you would know what God wanted you to do?

Sort of. When I pray for guidance on a certain issue I ask that I'll know what God's will is because the direction I take will be easier if it is. If it isn't, then I will run into many obstacles. There have been a couple of times I've actually prayed so hard that I "heard" the answer, the guidance I needed.

OH, that is so awesome! I agree with you that if we go in God's will things will go much easier. If we go in our will, we will encounter so many obstacles. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, I have. But I'm never sure if I've done it right. Though in thinking about it, I probably do it more then I realize. Like if there is a sale going on in a certain store and I can't decide if I want or should go, I'll often ask God if I'm supposed to go then would you have someone call and ask me to go with them or meet them there.

I think we do this more often than we realize it. I had not really thought about it until the comments started coming in on this discussion. Wow! This is awesome! God bless you, Sherry. Thanks for responding.

I think I have. I have asked for certain things to take place if this was God will. I tend to get in the way so muc at times that I do not hear Gods perfect will. I have been battling this so some time now. I want to get so much closer to God. When I was younger it was so much easier to believe in Gods word. Then I backslide for 13 years and came back to God after my son was born. I have hard-ed my heart so much over the years that I'm struggling to trust completely in Him for everything. I need prayer in this area bad. I don't want to constantly think about myself and what I need and want, but I always find myself doing this.

Oh, mjsdls, My prayer warrior friends and I will pray for you if you don't mind. We all need to be more sensitive to God's leadership. We all let ourselves get in the way so many times of what God wants to do in our lives. Don't be discouraged just keep talking to God and keep looking up to Him. God bless you.

Hi mamacathie! When I saw your discussion I thought of an incident back in 1997. My husband was having trouble with the management at the post office where he was working, and still works there. The postmaster did not like him because he was a union officer. To make a long story short, my husband lost three months of work without pay because the supervisors under this postmaster was telling lies about him to themselves look good. He was able to get his job back and received back pay also. After my husband went back to work there was another man at the post office going through headaches because of the same thing, he was a union officer also. His case was going to arbitration and he was fighting to keep his job. I felt like the Lord was leading me to let this man know I was praying for him but I wasn't sure and I wanted to do the right thing. The man knew me through my husband but I didn't feel that it would be right to call his home because he and his wife were also having some problems so I felt it would be inappropriate. During this time my husband was having to spend quite a bit at their union office because of issues with this postmaster. He was there one night and I needed to call and ask him something. The Lord was still leading me to say something to this man. I prayed before making the phone call to my husband and said "Lord if this is you and not just me thinking I need to say something to Mike, let Mike answer the phone when I call to talk to Steve." I made the phone call and I literally had butterflies, I just didn't know what was going to happen. A few seconds later the phone was answered at the union office and who answered it, Mike. I knew his voice because we had spoken at other times at union functions I had been to with Steve. When I told him who I was he was very nice and I said "Mike, I just want to let you know that Steve told me your arbitration case is fixing to come up. I know you have been going through a lot and I just want you to know that I'm going to be praying for you that all will go well." He got kind of quiet but he told me how much he appreciated it. I kept praying for him as the days got closer to his case. The day it came up my husband Steve came and home and told me "Mike won his case!" I was so thankful that the Lord had answered my prayer.

Oh, SheliaLee, that was a fleece. That is an awesome miracle. I love to see how God works in things like this. I got gospel bumps while reading your note. Thanks for your comments and God bless you.
