Nordic Walking - 3 Generations of Health & Fitness - Real Nordic Walking Poles are custom fit to each individuals height. Durable one-piece poles are safer, lighter and much more durable than poles with twist lock systems - adjustable/telescoping/collapsible poles. Skiers do NOT use twist locking adjustable/telescoping/collapsible poles and neither should you when walking and hiking with poles!Quality one-piece poles custom fit correctly to each individuals height and equipped with REAL Nordic Walking Straps are safer, lighter and much more durable than twist locking one-size fits all poles. Hundreds of back packers have had severe falls when their twist lock systems failed on there telescoping poles. Hundreds of my customers accidentally purchased adjustable/telescoping/collapsible poles and LOVED the concept of Nordic Ski Walking, but hated the twist lock systems. Many of the poles equipped with twist lock systems do NOT have Real Nordic Walking Straps. The following companies utilize the best straps: One Way, Exel and SWIX. They all utilize the Salomon Ski Company patents. These quality fingerless glove-type Nordic Walking straps allow individuals to maximize the positive effects of walking with poles. Perfect length poles help us to automatically walk with a super straight back - better walking posture is biomechanically a good thing. This improved walking posture when combined with the unique 4-Wheel-Drive type action of walking with poles radically reduces the stress to the shins, knees, hips and back. Nordic Walking is low impact and yet provides a highly effective workout - burning more calories and working more muscle groups than regular walking.
