I am wanting to grow a new plum tree. The one that is planted is no longer producing fruit and I was thinking that may be because the second tree we had needed to be cut down after a storm, and is no longer there to cross pollinate with. I was wondering if you knew when to take a cutting that will grow into another tree with the right care. I had heard that it can be done with certain trees and was hoping that a plum tree might be one of those trees. Also would the first tree have a problem cross pollinating with it's clone?
