Yes it does, but you have to be really care because it absorbs sunlight (which would darken your skin instead) at the same time. So don't it during the day, use it during the night time. But the thing is it's quite strong and you have to make sure your skin won't get irritated because of it. I would recommend you use it with yogurt (the recipe is as follows), it would brighten up your face skin tone: Ingredient: Plain Yogurt [not those which are flavoured, it has to be PLAIN/ ORIGINAL] Method: Put it on cleansed face for around 15 - 20 mins, then wash off with water. If you find the texture is a little too watery, you can mix the yogurt with a bit of flour to give a thicker and easy-to-manage texture. Function: Deep cleansing & anti-ance. Whitening skin up a bit & evening out skin tone. Moisturizing & firming skin. Tips: If you would like to have a stronger moisturizing effect, you can add a bit of honey in the yogurt. If you would like to have a stronger anti-dullness effect, a bit of lemon together with the yogurt will do the trick. Attention: If you have skin allergies to yogurt/ AHA/ BHA, please do not use this recipe. If you put the yogurt on your face and experience a burning sensation over the cheeks, please wash off immediately! Are you concerned with overall lightening or specific spots? I think lemon juice is irritating and doesn't lighten much. It has citric acid. Use something more friendly to your skin.

About skin lightening, am not sure but oh my God, Lemons have a lot of medicinal values, if it doesnt deal with your hair or skin tone, be sure it will completely handle your cold or cough.

Why lighten your skin tone? I love dark skin tone!! Here in Spain girls try to find the good way to get toasted on the beach and don't get cancer... so they would rather ask "does lemon juice protects you from sun radiation but let the light rays pass trhough?" :)

i heard that lemon lightens skin tone but i think that its too harsh to be a skin lightener especially if you have sensitive skin. furthermore, when using lemon juice as a whitener, you should avoid staying in the sun because that would cause sunburn and some painful peeling. remember that lemon has acids therefore, it really isnt that gentle to put on the skin. :) try ponds whitening products. they are really effective and affordable. that's what i use. :) good luck!

I don't get it. Why do youwant to lighten your skin? Especially just your face, then it won't match your body. It makes no sense to me, no one is ever happy with what they have. Light women tan and dark women want to belach ther skin, but it wounds very unhealthy to me. At least tanning is a natural process, putting cehicals on your skin that are harsh enough to bleach it will damage your skin. The color of your skin should no be your focus (unless it is discolored or red, then you might have a condition). You should focus on the condition of your skin and use products to mantain your skin's conditon and youthfulness, don't bleach your skin, you could get burns or dmamge yourself in some other way.

Tanning can actually be more dangerous as it can lead to skin cancer! Dont be fooled as too many people have lost their lives this way. Lightening the skin by using natural foods high in vitamin c is a safe and effective method. Foods include lemons, lime, tomatoes and strawberries. You can make a good facial mask out of these by adding honey and yorgut to the mixture and leaving on for 15 minutes. Only do this at night as it may increase your skins sensitivity to the sun. Be sure to use a moisturiser with an spf 30 or above to prevent further sun damage.

I know that lemon juice can be put in your hair before you go out in the sun and it will lighten your hair. So if this is in fact true then yes, it will do the same for you skin as it is acting as bleach when it reacts with heat. Lemon juice is also a natural astingant so it is probably not horrible for cleaning out those pores. The only thing I would worry about is the drying effect that it may have and also that it might cause your skin to burn more easily if you are out in the sun.
