E-Mail Entitled - Somebody's Thinking Outside the Box

I received subject email which gave no indication as to its author. This may be deleted but I thought it was interesting enough to pass it along. ---------------------------------------------------------- If the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it. And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it. And since they already have prohibited any prayer in the schools, of which they deem their authority, then so be it. I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen. I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions. I would like to think that those people have my best interest at heart. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE? I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter & Sunday. I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter as well as Sundays. After all... it was the government that deemed these as religious observances! I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other days of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct". This would not effect any "non-governmental" business since everyone else still has the freedom of religion, we could all still enjoy our holidays. So I guess if they continue to bow to the wishes of the few, & if this e-mail gets out to the right people, maybe they would bow to the wishes of the many. So be it...........and Amen! ----------------------------------------------------------- While this may seem a little extreme I think that it does have some merits. It points out the old addage of wanting your cake and eating it too. Any comments?

Gifana, I don't know who started that, but I'm with them 100%. If they are taking God and our Christian holidays out of "government", then our lawmakers shouldn't have any of those holidays off. Of course, that's never going to happen. They make the laws...LOL. And, believe me, they will never bow to the wishes of the many. They are much more concerned with raising their own pay and denying legislation that would help "the many".

How right you are, Claudia. But the religious issues seem to carry more clout for the minority. I still don't understand how all three of the government bodies came to an agreement on the prayer removal. In addition, two thirds of the State governments also concurred. It would be interesting if the people tried to have this amendment repealed as they did the Prohibition amentment....somehow I doubt very much that this will come to pass. Always nice to see you. +

I like this I will be passing this around to my email list. Can you see the politicians working on the non holidays as they want to make them by taking out God from places where our Founding Fathers wanted them to be. After all if you don't believe in God we don't have a reason to celebrate these holidays. Our government bows down to a few people who are loud mouthed and petty enough to make demands which affect all.

Most of the politicians have their own working hours, especially when Congress is not in session. I really don't think that working on Sundays would be fair because most of us never worked on Sunday except in time of crisis or swing shifts. Until the majority puts up a fuss the government will continue to bow down to those who fight loudest and longest. It makes the term "silent majority" a truism and I think its time the people convert it to the "noisy majority". Who knows it might make a difference. Nice to have you drop by. +
