It's people who sign up through a link you provided, in example in my case it says: your referral url is: http://www.mylot.com/?ref=PsychoDude For you it'd probably say: your referral url is: http://www.mylot.com/?ref=sweetlizzie I take it it simply uses the username so, when people sign up through that link with your ref you'd get a certain benefit over that.
