According to TSN (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl), Chris Pronger has a disciplinary hearing scheduled for today in regards to his hit on Holmstrom. Niedermayer received the 5 minute major, but it was clear in the replays that his hit was not the one that injured Holmstrom. A hearing does not guarantee a fine or suspension, but it does make it a possibility. I'm glad that the league is looking into this matter. Head injuries are far too common in this day and age. There should be some news about the hearing tonight or tomorrow morning.

The league ruled in favor of the Wings. Pronger's hit brought him a well earned 1 game suspension.

Hockey, are they still playing that? I sort of lot interest after my beloved Maple Leafs blew it again (I have a lot of scars). You are right though, some of the hits these days are really unnecessary and its time to nail the few guys that do this repeatedly. On the lighter side, the only team left I could cheer for would be the Wings, any team that had Stevie Y. can't be all bad.
