How much do you disclose about yourself??

All of us have secrets and some of which we may not be really proud of- When you chat with a friend or even family member how much do you really open up?? Do you have friends that know absolutely everything about you; what about family members?? Even though I don't have real dark secrets, I am a very private person and usually don't tend to open up to anyone about my weaknesses; it just makes me feel very vulnerable in a way.

I am a pretty private person when it comes to my friends. If you asked them, they'd probably tell you that they know very little about me personally. The only person I really discuss any of that type of thing with is my wife. I've always been that way. I internalise stuff a lot and tend to let it build up which is never a good thing.

You are right about the fact that it is not a good thing to let things build up ...it can be very stresfull.

oh I am shy and rather buttoned up person so I need time before trusting anybody to know something private about me..and after having bad experiences, I am now even more buttoned up and therefore I don't like speaking about myself and my true feelings.I think that trusting someone to know what we really think and feel is one of the greatest signs of friendship and affection and I think that only special people can deserve it..anyway I hate lies so I say all the truth that I can and I leave out what I don't think it proper..

I hate lies too and that is the reason I let my friends and family know when I don't want to talk about something, which I want to keep just to myself - I also respect their wishes to do the same.

I have two friends that know everything about me. The good and the bad. They never judge me and they are always there to support me. I feel much more comfortable opening up to them over my family members. I feel that my family members judge me.

You are really lucky to have such good friends that make you feel comfortable enough to confide in them.

I am also a private person.....although I am more withholding about what is going on currently in my life than the things that I have experienced in the past....these things are over and most of them taught me valuable lessons....which I am happy to share with someone if I feel that it helps them...even if this past experience was potentially embarrassing at the time....I am sure that I have gotten over it by now...LOL

LOL - how true...what once we thought was a 'BIG' secret now many of us share it as a funny story!!! But do you ever keep a vulnerable side of you locked up?? I do many times - Have a good day, my friend.
