i am going to venture into something new for next school year. i am going to be cyber charter homeschooling my 10 yr old daughter who will be entering into sixth grade in august. does anyone else cyber charter homeschool? sounds really neat. we live in a place where there are many horrible stories about the junior high so i dont want to send her there. i think that junior high is where you lose a lot of your innocent child and they learn a lot from each other and the peer pressure. so we are going to attempt this homeschooling method this year coming up. cyber charter homeschooling is where the kids log onto a computer at a certain time each day and actually have a teacher and a class of students. they learn everything that way. they have access to the teacher all day long and some evenings for added help. the school district supplies all the books, a laptop, printer, pays for your internet service each month and all the supplies that you will need like art supplies, a globe and science stuff. it is all totally free too. the school tax money that you pay goes to that instead of the actual school in your district. sounds neat, right? she is also going to be able to do the extra curricular activities in the school district so she will still have socialization skills. does anyone out there do this type of homeschooling? how about any type of homeschooling? what do you like or dislike about it??

I homeschool, though we don't use a cyber charter school. I personally don't like that method, but if it works for your children then that is all that matters. :) I keep a homeschooling blog you should check out, lots of information updated daily. :) http://momisteaching.com
