M.Tech is not preferred these days. M.B.A of course offers a high pay. but i would suggest to stay with B.Tech rather than M.Tech, because no one even asks for M.Tech. you will not get much in M.Tech. If you are not interested in MBA, then don't do, but also there is no use in doing M.tech these days. Atleast ME would help you more.

i thk nwadys ppl opt for MBA only coz of the high package that is offered to a B.E+MBA student.bt if all d guys think about the salary and do MBA thn 4m where will v get good researchers.Atleast there shud be some mass to work in their core subject field.

B.Tech/B.E. itself is a big degree and has high value. B.E./B.Tech graduates,No need to study master degree at all. Why B.E./B.tech students and graduates are studying M.B.A? There is no similarity between B.E./B.Tech and M.B.A because B.E. is a science/engineering degree and M.B.A is a commerce and management degree. What will B.E. students gain by studying M.B.A degree?B.E. itself is enough. Instead B.E./B.Tech graduates and students can do M.C.A or M.E./M.Tech which are same. M.C.A has high value than M.B.A and same type of degree for B.E. graduates.

Well MBA is useful if you are going to the field of marketing or management. and M Tech is advantageous if you are going to the teaching profession. So go according to your apptitude or interest not by force. both the fields have about equal opportunities. that s all. Deepak Rajpal

well i think there is some misconception on the topic,an MBA graduate is getting several times higher salary than a btech or be...it's only because the institutes convert the salaries to INR from dollars,1 crore refers to $ 200,000..but if you look at starting initial salary of engg graduates it would be around $60,000 - $80,000 but an MBA graduate in comparison to them is having far more work experience than them,so if you starts with 70k you will reach atleast 150k in 5 yrs which synchronise the pay packet difference...........The only reason a concept has developed in our mind that mba graaduates earn a lot more money is the currency value between any 2 countries...

Ppl opt for MBA Bcoz CAT is simpler thn GATE comparatively. And ppl talking abt higher salary to MBAs perhaps dont know abt Intellectual Property Rights (IPO) and Patents, Which can b profitable investments with Zero investment.
