My friend asked these questions and I enjoy reading the answers she got.... Names often have connotations with them let's see what we, here, associate with them: list the name or names that you find... the most royal or regal sounding? goofy? snobbish? beautiful? new age-ish? most awful? is your favorite? the most ditzy sounding? yourself astonished to believe someone would name a child? most harsh sounding? most graceful? PS Don't be offended if someone mentions a name you are familiar with or have... its all in fun

Oh goody, I get to go first! The most royal or regal sounding name would have to be Regina. The goofiest name might be, Taffy, Tansy, Maisie? The snobbish names I am coming up would be Judith, Astoria, Augusta, Honoria...the all seem to remind me of Roman Empresses. A beautiful set of names would be Belle, Graciela, Isabella. Hmn, some new age-ish names cold be Sky, Kai, Sunshine, Love, Peace, and Summer. Some of the most awful names would be Harriet, Agnes and Dolres. I don't have any favourite names at the moment. The most ditzy sounding prize goes to jennifer and Jason. I am astonished to believe someone would name a child a first name of Ima, but I know they do. The most harsh sounding are Horace and Brutus. The most graceful is Grace and Graciella.

Old Slavic names are notoriously famous for highlighting the person's status/family background. For example "Sviatoslav" stands for " Honorable Saint" etc. I think simplar paradigms can be noticed in other countries and regions. I guess Red Indian names are most descriptive and colourful of all

oh I agree about Philomena... I had considered it for our youngest - but my dh could not bring himself to agree. He did not want his little girl referred to as "Filly" Since then I have a few friends that have named their daughters Philomena, and one has named their's a little differently with an "F" to keep with the Latin spelling. Kamarie is indeed lovely.
