My husband had a spaghetti sauce stain on his shirt and I washed/dried it and it didn't come out? Do you have any suggestions? Also I have sweet potatoes or squash baby food stain on my off white table cloth. Do you have any suggestions for that one? Thanks.

If it is a white clothing, you may use clothing detergent with laundery stain remover and leave it for around 10 minutes. Then, rub it and rinse it off. On the other hand, if it is on a colour clothing, use diluted vinegar (one part vinegar to two parts water) or full strength and blot until the stain is lifted.

If that don't work, try some oxiclean. I had forgot about a wet bathing suit in a zip lock bag, and it had actually had mold set in on it, I let it sit for a good long while, but it did all come out.

If you wash something and put it in the dryer you are pretty well sunk. If I notice a stain before I wash I treat it with liquid dishsoap. I rub it in good and add a dab of water with it. Then I let it set for a while before I wash in the washing machine. Then it is ok to wash, but check to see if any stain is still there. It make have to be washed a few times before the stain is removed. A dryer will set the stain forever. Good luck.

Yep, I usually do but overlooked these and now I am sunk. It aggravates me because my husband was so sweet to tell me he got it on his shirt and I forgot to pretreat it. He even left it out so I would know to pretreat and I still forgot. Thanks for your post.

I know the feeling. I've missed a few myself.

Mamacathie I was over in the frugal discussions last night when I came across this stain remover. Scrubbing Bubbles. Good on carpet stains too apparently from what I was reading. Just thought I would add another suggestion for you if you haven't gotten the stains out yet.

The shirt and tablecloth are not whie so I will be afraid to try clorox. I am afraid it will bleach them. Thanks for the post.
