Spidey Five Stories Tall!

Sunday, I went to see Spiderman 3 in the IMAX theater in New York City. Luckily, I bought tickets a week ago from those friendly puppets at Fandango. Good thing as the 5:00 show was sold out as was the 8:30 one.
We all thought the movie was great, but, come to think of it, did the IMAX experience cause us to think that or was the movie really that good?
The only other feature movie I saw in IMAX (and this one IMAX 3D) was The Polar Express. I thought that was fantastic too, until I saw it a year later on DVD and saw how average it actually was.
Anyone have any comments or an experience like this?

I haven't had any experience like this, however we are going to see Spiderman 3 this weekend at the IMAX here in our area. We were waiting cause our good family friend's birthday is on Friday so we're gonna treat him to the IMAX. I have seen some IMAX movies, like Superman Returns, and I thought it was amazing on IMAXX, but I don't believe it altered my idea of the movie. About 30 minutes in, I forgot it was on IMAX and was just watching the movie. We'll have to see on Saturday as to whether or not it happens with Spidey, though.
