I'm sure everyone at one time or another has quit a job and if you haven't then more power to you. I on the other hand have been thinking about quitting my job for the past few months now. I know the day will come soon, and that got me thinking of how I would do it. How did you quit your job? Were you angry when you left and made it obvious by the way you quit? Or did you leave on good terms with everyone and quit the nice way by turning in a 2 weeks proposal?? Please share!

racheld, I have quit jobs also: I have always tried to give a 2 week notice. I found the best way to quit is by going straight to the boss and explaining the problem or situation that I am having and why I am giving my final notice to quit..Most of the time if you are a good worker, they will try to work things out since good dependable workers are hard to find. Plus when you are up front and do the right thing then it is not showing bad reports on your work record. We all need a good work record to get hired by other employers. I have been a boss myself and always appreciated it when employees would come to me and explain the reason for terminating their employment. If there was a problem I would always try to work something out if possible.. showme07

I never quit without getting another job first, with the excpetion of when I moved back to NY. I also give a lot of notice, because they will need to be your references for future jobs, so make friends before you go:)
