Do you let your pet sleep in your bed with you?

We don't let out cat sleep in our bed with us, in fact we keep her downstairs at night. The reasoin is because if we did let her sleep in our bed with us, she'd cause up no end of disruptions! On the few occassions she has escaped from downstairs in the night and come up, she's woken us up by scratching or pestering us! She's lovely, but we need our sleep! I only let her on the bed to sleep with us on a saturday or sunday morning if we are having a lay in, and she seems to be able to keep still for an hour or two.

We have a year old beagle mix and a three month old basset hound/labrodor mix and they both sleep with us. When my husband went away to basic training, our beagle slept with me every night. I usually cuddled with him. I went to a party at a friends house and we stayed over. He played with their dog all night. Our dogs aren't really a distraction for us at night. Sometimes the oldest throws up but it only wakes me up, not my husband. The youngest takes a while to find her "spot" but when she does she passes out. The youngest wakes me up in the morning by snuggling up to my neck. She lays her head across it and sleeps like that until I move her. But we wouldn't have it any other way. We love it. We do wash our sheets every couple of days though. But that would be the only downfall of it.

I would LOVE to let me pet sleep in bed, but me mom doesn't allow me. I had a rooster about six years ago.The sweetheart always wanted to sleep next to me on bed, n at times he even slept next to me, stretching its head on me pillow. I loved me rooster so much.....He pooped so many times on my bed, but I never stopped letting him sleep next to me.

My kitty sleeps with me. I like having her in the room to keep spiders away. I have a phobia of spiders. She sleeps in my bed on the pillow next to me. She is pretty good about sleeping.

Yes I have a cat named cotton and he does sleep with us. Thankfully he doesn't run around all night . I don't blame you for keeping your cat downstaris if your cat is hyper at night.

We have a cat that loves to sleep with us, but I have no idea why he would choose to do so. Several times each night my husband or I accidentally kick him off the end of the bed. What a rude awakening! He always just jumps back up and goes to sleep again.

Generally we do not let the pets sleep in bed with us. It has happened though. The dog likes to sleep on furniture when we are gone. The cats have at times been around through the night, but as you said they are certainly a pain. They have no interest to sleep at night, so they annoy and try to sleep right at your head. What do they care, they will nap all day when everone else is at work or school. Thanks for asking.

I love my two cats but I will never let them sleep in my bed, I just can't stand all the fur they shed. Also one of my cats is so restless even when she sits on my lap I know she would be a nightmare. I am lucky that they never scratch my bedroom door at night but as soon as I open that door in the morning, she is there wailing at me for food. Its funny because when I have overslept on the odd occasion, then she will scratch at the door. My very own cat alarm clock!!

My oldest cat Sasha sleeps wth us, and Lily used to as well. To be honest they would cause more disruption if we didn't let them, because Sasha has slept with us from Day 1, and he would just scratch at the door, and miaow, and keep us awake all night! Once in the bed, he just lies quiet and behaves, and we don't know he's there!

Our small dog ALWAYS sleeps with us. Our lab mix is up and down during that night, sometimes she stays in bed most of the night, other times she stays out of the bed most nights. Same thing with our cat if she gets closed into our bedroom at night. We weren't planning on letting our animals sleep with us. My husband already had the lab when we got married, but she had been an outside dog up to that point. She became an inside dog immediately when we got married, but she never tried to sleep in the bed. She had a blanket in the floor. Then we got Trixie, the terrier. The first night we had her, there was a huge storm. She would jump up in bed, and we would cuddle her until she stopped shaking, and then put her back down off the bed. After about the fifth time she jumped in bed, we decided to just let her stay. Now she sleeps there every night, and because she does, the lab decided it must be okay for her, too. Trixie either sleeps on the pillows, or under the covers. Luckily she doesn't shed much. On weekends, in the morning after my husband would normally be up for work, Trixie lays on his chest and puts her head on his cheek. It's so funny. It doesn't usually even wake him up until she starts blowing on his nose.

I don't allow my pets to sleep in my bed as iam fear about the diseases we get from there hairs. This true that we get breath problems with pets.as there hairs are very thin and they easily entered in to our nostrills and create problems.

We let our pets sleep with us. We have two dogs, both are medium to large, one is 52 lbs and the other is 35 lbs. My problem is that one of them was my first real pet I ever had as an adult and when we got her as a puppy, I just loved her too much and insisted that she sleep with me. That wasn't too bad, but then we got the other one a year later, also a puppy, and we got her to sleep under the bed, thinking that when she got older she would be comfortable on the floor at night. WRONG!!! She followed the other, we had to get a king sized bed and we still fight for room all night long. We've just gotten used to it now. We love our girls but this has been a hard lesson to learn. Start them ALL on the floor and make them know it's bad to get on the bed.

The dogs are usually the ones that end up hopping into bed; they have their own room and are usually pretty happy sleeping in there but when it starts thundering, they make a beeline for my bed.

My cat sleeps on the bed with me and has to lean against me the whole night, usually my legs and Ive developed the art of turning over in my sleep without disturbing her! She snores quite loudly as well, sometimes I think its worse that sharing my bed with a bloke!
