Difference between best friend & Girl/Boy friend

In today context, who will be the best. Our best friend or our BF/GF. Well a friend, who care of you, think about you, understand you n can't live with out you is your best friend. You can share your all the thing to him/her then the terms of friend will change as Best friend. And if your heart says some thing special for a person, whom when u meet at first think only about him/her, will known as your boy/girlfriend. I m little bit confused about this, who will be the best. Our Best friend OR Boy/Girl Friend. Pls tell about your views.

in my view, best friend is a person who is very near to our heart.and a gf/bf is who lives in your heart

well your best friend can be your bf/gf/spouse/partner i would think of my husband my best friend, but i also have several other best friends. the trust and caring is the same, just the bf or gf gets other 'privliges'
...i sometimes said, you do need both though. you need a best friend to complain about your boyfriend and you need a boyfriend to complain about your friends. basiclly that means, when you're involved with someone you sometimes can't talk to them about certian things, so a friend would be someone you can vent out to someone on the outside of the relationship...something like that.
