I am surfing on the net trying to find a new job, i just noticed that most of job advertisement has their specific age range. Now, i am thinking is it really necessary? Was that fair? SO if you had aged about 30 above your chances of finding a job is less? Is that thing right?

i think that its just right..because if you're looking for a job at a very late age then that would mean that you dont do you job as expected or maybe you easily get tires or lose interest in what you do..so age restricts its..its actually a good criteria for attitudes or abilities..^_^ i hope you do agree or even understand what i'm pointing at..^_^

At some point you are right, but how about these people with experiences be disregarded hiring for a new job? There are times, these people had rendered certain company for more than 6 years and suddenly the company they were working for get closed. So how these people could live? So the opportunity for them shall then be close because they are now old? Are they should go to the street to become beggars just to have a means of living?

hmm..good point there..but im guessing that they'll have some insurance or a rightful share for they years they served..most especially if they got old doing that job and being with that company..so most likely they wont go scattered on the street for some food..also, if they really are that good at their job, its a sure thing that another company will take them in and disregarding the age requirement..^_^

I have experienced this once. I was on my second job interview for an insurance company and before we started the interviewer told me, "We don't hire anyone under 22". I was 19. I told him, "Well most 19 year olds aren't married with debts to pay." He let me take the tests and finish the interview but I did not get the job. I was upset because I had job shadowed for weeks and already passed the first part of the interview process.

Don't see it as a requirement but as an indication. Companies know what is the best age range for a job so they focus their search. but they should not lose people because of age. There may be jobs that youg people is more adapted like handling things and physical jobs. Other times, life experience counts for financial services or insurances. The ideal company would consider applicants of any age for any job and the selection process would get stuck. So a more-or-less flexible limit is imposed, so if you really think you are right for a position go for it and explain why you are disregarding the age requirement.
