In Tulsa, Oklahoma a daycare worker has been charged on Thursday with a felony complaint for injury to a minor child after she bound a two year old's hands and covered his mouth with masking tape because he wouldn't be quiet during naptime. She states that she left the child for a few minutes unattended and when she returned he was laying unresponsive. She called 911 and tried to perform cpr. During all of this a DHS worker stopped by to do a surprise inspection of the home/daycare. Unrelated to this incident, on Wednesday a warrent was issued for felony abuse on a minor child because she allegedly smack an eight year old several times with a fly swatter on April 10th. I have just heard charges will be upgraded because the two year old passed away this morning. It is stories like this that makes me thankful I am a stay-at-home mom. My heart goes out to these families and what is to come for them. Why in the world would someone like this go into a home daycare business??

Can you say prison?? Which is right where she needs to be. I can't understand why she was still running the daycare after the complaint of hitting a child with a fly-swatter?? LIVE IN PEACE

i could never ever do that to a child. when me and my husband get a bigger house i am opening my own in home day care. i have an 8 month old son and he already gets himself into trouble. his punishment is a firm NO. he will usally start crying but he stops what he does none the less. i dont believe in hitting let alone tieing up a child. I woudl have just let the child sit there and "play" quietly with a stuffed animal till he got sleepy and fell asleep himself. I have worked in a day care before and it has worked. oh and that is one reason why i am a stay at home mom also, i dont trust day cares unless i know the person watching my son personaly.

OMG a two year old! I have a two year old, that is scary to me!:( That makes me happy too that I stay home, since it appears you can never REALLY know who watches your child. I worked in home daycare and you know, if the kid doesnt nap, you have to deal with it and find something to amuse him like crayons or playdoh. Not duct tape him! I can't believe the boy passed away. I am going to cry now..ugh. Hope she's locked up for a long time.

Every personnel in daycare centers should undergo meticulous psychological test to prove they have the capacity to take care of other people's children. Governments must be aware of this fact.
