Well, let's just say I've been one of those people. :) Actually, I was named after the Greek goddess of rainbow. But I heard that there is a song which title is my name, I was so happy to find it out! PLUS, the song fits my life so well. And it was the greatest song I've ever heard. Every line fits me. No kidding. :) You? Do you know someone who goes by same name too? And does he also like the song?

I personally like the word "Iris" because it was named after Iris, the Greek Goddess of rainbow. Rainbow signifies optimism after every storm. Iris is part of our eyes for us to see light. In fact, my former net name was Iris.

Wow, amazing. You used that name for the net? Does the song have to do with that nickname of yours? Yeah, it means greek goddess of rainbow. I agree rainbow signifies optimism that's why I like my name so much. Anyway, thanks for the answer in my posts.

I totally agree. I used to love that line too - even until now. It just makes me realize how much truth a pain can bring. If you bleed, then you know you're alive. It's like, what are heartaches for? Heartaches are for us to know that we have truly loved someone. Because without pain, there would be no compassion. Thanks for your answer.

Iris is a really old song, the Goo Goo Dolls don't do much for me anymore but I loved them back when that track came out. The video is great as well too, you should check it out if you haven't! Anyway, I know a couple of girls named Iris, it's a fairly common name in Spanish actually.

I've checked the vid many times. I liked the way John Rzeznik looked through the telescope, like he's a watcher or something. If you liked the song, I mostly recommend watching the movie City of Angels, since Iris was one of the biggest hit OST in it. That's why GGD made a comeback after the song became a phenomenon. It also saved John Rzeznik from his writer's block. And by the way, the name Iris is an adopted Spanish name derived from the Greek meaning Goddess of Rainbow. In Spanish it means, messenger of the gods. Anyway, no argue with that, I still love the name and the song!

"I'd give up forever to touch you." I mean c'mon, what could possibly top that? Great song! John Rzeznik is actually a great composer.
