My new favorite color..

When somebody used to ask me what my favorite color was, I always said blue. Blue is nice, it's peaceful, it's ubiquitous. THe sky is blue. And plus all boys like blue (every seen a new baby boy's room?). But I was never really convinced that blue WAS actually my favorite color. I could never think of another color that I did like better than blue, so it was always blue, when somebody asked, I'd say, "well..blue." A very safe answer.
Over the last few days, i started to realize that i actually DO have a favorite color! I never noticed it before, but when I was messing around with my website and profile, I find myself drawn to this color more so than other colors.
I FOUND MY FAVORITE COLOR - AND IT'S ORANGE!!!!
I love orange!! it's so nice and bright, but not too bright like yellow, and doesn't make you angry like red. I guess green is good too but it just doesn't pop like orange. I LOVE ORANGE!!
It only took me 28 years 8 months 26 days and 12 hours to figure it out! ORANGE!!!

Wow thank you man for posting that question and i asked my self what is my favorite color... it took me now 28 years 7 months 19 days and 8 hours ... 34 minutes.. 5 seconds (as of this writing) to able to know what my favorite color is.. Thank you for saving me for embarrassment im earlier by you by a MONTH (almost)!!! by the way my favorite color is MOTHER OF PEARL.... wow.. i love it.. thank you again.. you make my life a little bit complete.

When I was kid (until about 12 or so) my favorite color was yellow, especially lemon yellow, but then I started liking blue, especially ice blue.
To be honest with you, I'm not great with favorites. I've seen a lot of beautiful colors...I think what makes it really matter is the type of media it's being used in.....like, the color red looks different if it's displayed digitally on a screen, printed on a sheet of paper, or is paint in a painting. Different types of media can produce very beautiful colors.

I like your sentiment. It's very original. SO maybe one should ask what is your favorite color on what media?
So far I've liked orange on the computer screen, as the shiny paint on cars, on the paper next to blue...but not with black on Halloween.

isn't it hard to love black? i mean, i guess it is every color - so if you like colors, you'll love black. I only like black clothes, black background on the computer screen with orange lettering, but I don't like the black sky unless there are the white stars in it, or black paper unless I have colored pens to write on it.

LOl nice color to have a a favorite. although nothing rhymes with orange. You can eat an orange. You can go out on Halloween with orange and black. My favorite color is pink. its a girlie thing. Congrats on finding yours.

Pink is nice. I wear pink sometimes when I want to prove that I'm extra manly (because only REAL men can wear pink!)
But to prove to you that there are many, many words that rhyme with orange, please consider the following poem:
in the dusky sky
over the ocean blue and orange
the sun sets with fingers of orange
the shadows fall from the trees of orange
the lovers glow with light of orange

Yep - when I was a kid, I liked red. Stop-sign red, fire engine red, this was my favorite color. My parents never corrected me because they were artists. Red is the color applied by the masters to draw the viewer's eye to the center of a picture. As artists they also knew that red was an important primary color, and that was good enough for them.
But years down the road, I discovered that by choosing red as my favorite color, I was hurting myself. In all the psychological tests, a person who chose red was considered an "angry" personality.
Rather than risk being passed up for a special program or earning less on my IQ tests, I chose blue, even though I knew it was not my favorite.
So I've been lying all these years!
For a while in my adult life I chose green for clothes and jewelry. Don't ask me why, but I liked it.
Nowadays I go with light blue, or baby blue, I learned that it's a soothing color, and that I look better in pastels than I do in the more solid colors.
So baby blue it is, after only 40 years. Funny, eh?

that's kind of an interesting road you took. so what do you think of red now that you don't have to take all those IQ tests anymore?

the good thing about black and white....they always look good together! :) plus, you can sit and philosophize for hours about the subtleties of meanings involved in the juxtaposition of colors.

I love the color green. It represents life. There's something about it that I find soothing. I believe green has a calming effect.

My favorite color is black.......yup...it is......hardly anybody likes this color but i have in my favorite list. Now why if you ask ten i would say that if any other color is there then you can easy see things but in black (dark) you can hardly see anything....you have to make an effort to get yourself adjusted into such atmosphere. And life is all about trying and accepting the challenges.

kudos to you!! i think mine would have to be yellow!! I am a very bubbly person and i am told that i am alot of fun to be arround so i think it fits for me. and it is such a happy color!!
