I think I am too old to get a job. I am trying to get a job for almost 7 months. Unfortunately, I do not get any response after submitting several resume out to the market. Is it my age that affecting my job search. I am very depressed with the result. My friends console me that probably employer felt it is pretty difficult to obtain a work permit for me. Well, I think probably my age counts too.

Well, I think age does matter sometimes. It usually depends on what country you are working at. Your location is unspecified. There may be several factors or just one. How about your experiences? Other employees prefer that you should have an experience in the same country for them to hire you. And that is really difficult especially if you are a new immigrant, how can you get an experience if they do not hire you ? They should give you a chance. Each country has different standards. Do not lose hope, you will find a sponsor one day. Just be more patient and diligent.

You didn't state much information for us to make much judgement. If it really is your age that you feel is stopping you getting a job them just miss it of your application and see what happens.

Only thing I know to recommend is to go to your nearest Job Center, maybe they can help get you into a temporary job, at least... - DNatureofDTrain

Not to be too personal, but how old are you. Age can play a factor but it is really dependent upon how old you are. Most employers are looking for good references and experiences...age comes after that. Actually age does not even play a part in most cases unles it is very noticeable. cheers,

I am 37 and left my job as a Engineering Manager. Then, I brought my children with dependent visas to US for 7 months now. Somehow or rather, I am not authorized to work unless an organization willing to sponser me. :(
