I believe depression is spontaneous and cannot be cured.

Well, it is very true that depression comes in spurts, as you say, spontaneous. Depression is a serious illness though. And I very much believe it can be cured through medication and therapy. It can be a very devastating illness that can somethimes require hospitalization and thourough evaluation. Some cures are physical, mental and emotional strength and determination, along therapy and medication. Medication, although some may have undesirable side effects, can be a great cure for this illness. I cannot stress enough though that a proper therapist or mentor to help you deal with your problems is a very good idea. They can be very helpful in helping you to cope with stressful events that have occured, or are occuring in your life.

It`s a normal condition when the person is healthy. I dont talk about the pathological situation when the depression is chronic illness.

It, can, however be treated. With that said, the person has to want to make the conscious effort to get better. You can't help someone who does not wanted to be helped.
