Hi friens. I recently completed B.Tech as an Electronics and Communication engineer. Now i am in search of a job. As u all know ECE is the stream which is in most demand. But all most 90% of ECE people will get into a software job which involves subjects they have never studied before. And Company's also prefer ECE stuents. So i wanted to know why ECE students get into IT jobs and why Software company's give more preference to ECE students than students of IT or CSE?

Why ECE students are preferred is that because in entrance exam who got good ranks will take ECE stream. So obviously they are preferred by employers. Since soft jobs are abundant compared to field jobs so they get softjobs. Also any software can be learned easily if they have good C skills and every company uses different software.

They are giving more preferences to CS and IT, since they dodnt require much trainings. But along with these ECE and elecrical are considered as circuit branches. they think during their studies they will learn about computers the basicslike digital, computer communication,Co like subjects. So they are also given preferences to mech or civil students. I am an EC btech graduate and i strived hard to get EC job only. I never went for a software job. Thats why i am here in Wipro VLSI.
