Anyone here read NANA? Great story, great artwork, great characters.

I have, but I prefer the movie version over everything else really...especially the music.

The movie is nice, one of my favorite movies, but the manga has a deeper insight to the characters' characters lol. As well as the story - it's more complete and it feels as if you really are witnessing their lives unfold.

That is true; in fact I read other titles exactly because of the same reason. However, considering NANA is a story driven by music among other things, it is important for me to actually hear the music, not just read about them. I suppose not everyone feels the same way, but I think the music is the most important facet of NANA.

Yes! I love Ai Yazawa's stuff. I love the Nana manga & anime, but I didn't think the live action movies were that good. :/

I liked the first movie better than the second, that's for sure. But I'm hoping there'd be a third.

My best friend loves Nana, but I have only seen the movie so far and looked at the manga when he's shown it to me. I thought the movie was really great though, but I kept thinking it was going to have a really sad ending and it made me super paranoid.

The manga is still on-going so it's pretty early to say what the ending would be. There is a NANA 2 movie though, but I haven't watched it yet. But you should try the manga. It's really nice =)

I am slightly obsessed with NANA, both the manga and the anime. I particularly love how Ai Yazawa makes her characters feel so genuine and real, both in the design (her fashion design is gorgeous) and in characterization. The music and the voice acting in the anime just adds to the admiration~ I highly recommend Paradise Kiss (also by Ai Yazawa) for those that enjoy NANA!
