It all depends on your need and how much you are comfortable to pay for the service level you are asking for. Of course, I would want the fastest speed possible, but if it is going to cost me a bomb which I have no means to recover back, I would not want to pay for it. I would also look at the connectivity downtimes. I would sign up with one that is more reliable and can afford to offer higher bandwidths at a cheaper rate.

I'm not very familiar with smartbro, but I guess you can keep your landline with pldt (assuming your with pldt) if you get their service. Since you're a student, it be really wise to get a cheap package like what pldt offers now, however they have the worst customer service. I like to switch to globe but it's not available here yet. It might be more convenient still to stay with pldt as your homephone and dsl provider.

I think they come from the same provider since PLDT and smart are one and the same.

well, i recommend globe broadband coz it has a flat charge of P995 (excluding taxes) but their services are great. though they have times where their signal fluctuates but all i do is restart my PC or check the filter and then voila! the connection is back. smartbro is convenient though coz you don't need a phoneline. but a friend of mine has complaints already and as well as the internet cafes around here in our place. but really depends and the choice will always be up to you. good luck! =) who did you vote from the senatorial candidates? lol may adlib pa noh?

few months ago i was still using the dial up with PLDT. i was always disconnected and annoyed all the time and this prompted me to look for another provider until i was hooked up to smartbro lately. i may say that it has been doing well until now. i only experienced 1 day disconnection because they were having their system maintenance that time. it's cost effective and has efficient service i might as well recommend it to you. technical support is on 24/7.

I am currently using DSL from PLDT. I availed their promo package where I will pay 990php/month and still I can use my landline and broadband. Its working well on me and I have no problem with the connection speed.

globe broadband is not in your choices but if your area has this server, i suggest that you try it. i've been with pldt mydsl for almost 4 years already but i am not a satisfied client. i don't want to switch with other servers because their services is even worst. if you prefer to have smart bro, you make sure that the 'satellite or dish' for your connection can receive good signals because your connection will be based on this. the weaker the signal, higher tendency that you'll have a slow connection and frequent dropping of internet connection. with regards to mydsl, it is usually slower at the start of the connection. make sure to call their repairs section from time to time because they will monitor your speed and "realign" certain connections (i'm not really that techie so i am not aware of their terms).

Hi, i am from Malaysia, we don't have Smartbro and MyDSL. One company call Streamyx is almost monopolize the broadbank connection here, so we don't have much of choices. Currently i am using a 512MB download, 128MB Upload speed broadband, it cost like USD20 per month for broadbank connection and USD8.90 for monthly telephone charges. So, about USD30 per month. Well, if u have choices to choose, u can look and compare at their installation fees, activation fees, monthly fees. Asking review from friends is a smart move :p

i am not so knowledgeable about the specs of smart bro and DSL so i cant compare both. however, my family is on DSL right now, the 888 promo from pldt. it comes with a pldt line and an unlimited DSL with 256 kbps. so far, i find it okay and i am really contented with it. :) plus, you can still receive calls when you are online and, you can also enjoy promos with NDD and other stuffs from pldt. :)

i think it would be better if you get smart bro you can get it easily and it's almost a day after subscribing they'll come to your house and install it
