do you think people are getting greedier ? and just want more and better things...? and dont appreciate things ? i think in this throw away society that we are living in at the moment ....there are loads of peope that dont respect and appreciate what they have got.... i can remember my grandparents, saying when they got married they had nothing... except what escond hand things they were given... so only are the very basic things.... and then they worked hard to save for things... and if they could not afford it, they went without, or try to make it themselves.... the motto at the time was make do and mend... if anything broke they fixed it.... where today if something breaks or goes out of fashion people just throw it away and buy another one.... i think its terrible...

People are exceedingly greedy. Just look at the way people lose their shirts in the stock market and in casinos when they become too greedy and forget that there is a thing known as rational thought and gravity. One of my best friends makes a living out of people's greed. Somehow he manages to get people who are otherwise respectable and logical and in prominent social positions to forget their common sense and get blinded by their greed and invest in whatever scam he's running at the time. Look at the Nigerian Internet/Letter scams. Come on, these guys are only in the game because people are so desparate for quick, get rich promises and they get so consumed by their greed that they allow themselves to be guilled by confidence tricksters of the worst sort. People are greedy and somehow greed has a way of overcomming common sense. No wonder why people end up getting miserable.

I agree. In today's society we can run out to the store and buy anything we want, then toss it in the trash without a blink. No one has to really work for what they want when they can just run out and buy it. No one appriciates things that they don't have to work for or that they can just toss out.
