why do you blog regularly?

for those of you who have a blog. do you blog regularly (daily) simply because you enjoy it? or is it mainly to keep in touch with overseas friends? or is it to update all friends and family on your life? or is it to maintain interest and traffic? if it's not always updated, fewer people might visit regularly? or is it to get more advertisement revenue?

A blogger, by the very definition, is someone who logs on the web. The logging has to be a continuous effort, otherwise the credibility of the blogger is at stake.
A blogger therefore, normally writes at regular intervals. This is somewhat difficult for many people who start a blog and then are unable to be regular with it.
